Beatles - Hey Jude - Rehearsal - 1968 (UPGRADE)

Compare this clip the other versions of the same footage on YouTube. Yeah, this is only HALF of the full 6 min rehearsal segment but this is all that was broadcast during a repeat of a documentary called 'MUSIC' one afternoon in the early 90s. I was watching nothing in particular when I saw loads of Beatles song titles coming up on the screen. I grabbed a video JUST in case and the following amazing Beatles footage was re-broadcast. I was inadvertently watching a re-screening of a mint condition copy of a 1968 documentary called 'Music' and managed to record all but a few seconds of the Beatles insert. It shows them rehearing 'Hey Jude' in the recording studio. I did miss the first few seconds of John goofing about, present in the circulating clip. Save for the 'fwip' at 1:16 of this clip it's brilliant quality. Now, where's the rest of the footage in this quality? Recorded: 30 July 1968

Granada Television's 'Celebration: Madchester - The Sound of the North' At the height of the so-called 'Madchester' scene or 'baggy' if you will, this captured everything in all its glory. For a start Northside featured in a major item. Footage shows the band in interview, rehearsal, live in concert and even at work (well, the one band member who worked); Central Station Design in their studio creating something out of a pane of glass and loads of ephemera; Happy Mondays in Amsterdam - including Derek Ryder soundchecking for his son!; also includes 808 State and MC Tunes; Celebration was a Granada Television arts strand and undoubtedly Anthony H Wilson (So It Goes, The Other Side of Midnight, Remote Control, Content) must have had some influence in the making of a programme featuring Northside from his own record label.

Glendon - Urosokodoji - Rehearsal 1998

Glendon (or Goldman as they were later called) were a band I used to manage in the late 90s. They consisted of Karl Sadowski on vocals and bass, Tim Rowkins on guitar, Craig Rostance on guitar and Wesley Yeomans on drums. This footage is from September 1998 and was recorded when the band had use of Radiohead's rehearsal room in Oxford. I always loved this song and this live rehearsal version is a good one. This footage is from hours and hours of film made of the band and I'm currently transfering it all to DVD. Amazingly a band bio is still on line here: www.the-venue.demon.co.uk
