1971 Olds S71 Turbo Manifold Mock Up V8TV
www.v8tvshow.com - Sometimes the simple solution eludes you. In this case, we've been gearing up for the turbocharger install on the S71 Olds project. We've got our diesel block and new parts set aside, and we're using the original 350 engine to mock up how we want the turbo to fit in the car. We were expecting a ton of fambrication, as turbo manifolds or headers are not readily available for 1971 Olds 350 engines, and we were expecting to have to make our own. However, after studying the stock manifolds, a potential solution became apparant. From a performance standpoint, turbo cars don't seem to care if you're running headers or manifolds, the power levels are similar. And cast iron is as strong as anything when it comes to exhaust parts. We notices that the Olds manifolds had a provision for the single exhaust version cars that merges the left and right exhaust pipes together... can we use this factory style setup to build our turbo exhaust? Let's find out!

NASA Tests Orion Spacecraft Mock-up at Kennedy Space Center
A full-scale mockup of NASA's Orion crew module is being tested in the water off the coast of Kennedy Space Center in Florida the week of April 6. The spacecraft mock-up traveled from the Naval Surface Warfare Center's Carderock Division in Bethesda, Md., to Kennedy. The goal of the operation, dubbed the Post-landing Orion Recovery Test, or PORT, is to determine what kind of motion astronauts can expect after landing, as well as outside conditions for recovery teams.

Sikorsky X2 LTH Mock up
Sikorski business development manager Jim Kagdis here explains the aerodynamic and technical details of the X2 light tactical helicopter (LTH) mock-up unveiled at the Quad-A convention. The X2 LTH is a concept that could replace both the AH-6 Little Bird and the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior by the end of the next decade, Kagdis said. The propulsion system -- a coaxial rotor and pusher propeller -- should allow the helicopter to cruise at speeds up to 250kts. Sikorsky is currently testing an X2 demonstrator in Elmyra, New York.

Cirrus Vision SF50 Mock-Up at KSMO
Cirrus Aircraft held a presentation for a group of over 175 pilots interested in the new Cirrus Vision SF50 at Santa Monica Airport on February 4th, 2010. Hopes of shooting the prototype arriving at KSMO were dashed by a prudent use of caution by the flight crew during the pre-flight stage, that prevented the plane from making the trip. Left with a need to capture another unique perspective of the event, I decided on this - a time-lapse film of the Vision Mock-up being assembled on the tarmac in front of Typhoon Restaurant, where the presentation was held. It takes 67 minutes for the team to assemble the aircraft. The entire process is presented here, in 6 minutes and 17 seconds. Thanks for watching!

This doll is a registered trademark...Just kidding... I have created a look using Sugarpill Cosmetics...I apologize for accidentally saying Dollymix, or MAC, or Urban Decay, they were slips due to the fact that I was new to Sugarpill at the time of filming. As you can see the items I am using are Sugarpill. Many of you have pointed out that they are Sugarpill and Urban Decay, so I am glad you can see that. Royal Sugar is a Sugarpill Chromalust, these aren't Make Up Forever, and there is no MAC Dollymix used on the eyes, but you'd know that if I held up a blush pan for sure. I have seen other gurus get tongue tied on Dollymix VS Dollypop. I try to make sure that the bloopers aren't in my vids to reduce confusion. Items used were: Eyes: 1. Star Wars: C-3P0's Storytime (Hologram)
Inspired by discussion about showing scary holograms above C-3P0 during his 'flying chair' scene (which I somehow misread as being about showing holograms during 3P0's story), R2-D2 now projects a hologram of what 3P0 is taking about, while he enthralls the Ewoks with his mastery of their very primitive dialect. "Star Wars" copyright 1977 by LucasFilm "The Empire Strikes Back" copyright 1977 by LucasFilm "Return of The Jedi" copyright 1977 by LucasFilm A 'simple' project to demonstrate an idea (if you have to ask me what the idea is, watch the video). I want to thank my pals at the OT.com for giving me the idea (directly, or indirectly). I know the hologram is coming out of R2 incorrectly at times...but what else was I supposed to do? Although it looks kinda neat, I don't think it's a necessary change. In "Star Wars: A New Hope", C-3P0 lamented that he was "...not much good at telling stories...well, at making them interesting anyway." But, here in "Return of The Jedi", he proves to himself that he IS good telling interesting stories.
