The ivory tusk tooth grows right through the narwhal's upper lip. Scientists are not certain of the tusk's purpose, but some believe it is prominent in mating rituals, perhaps used to impress females or to battle rival suitors. Label: Imaginary Nonexistence Records Footage: San Fransisco, California Release: www.inrecs.com After a break of nearly 2 years from his last work and finishing his album under the name 5alad in 2010, Monoceros comes back with some new tracks, some of them started at the time of "I feel apocalyptic today" and refurbished from old ideas into new textures (like "Capvespre", "Cells"), considering this EP more an annex of "I feel apocalyptic" rather than a complete new work, (like it was with "I feel apocalyptic today" to "Tales for silent nights"). Tracks in the line of "Little cowboys" ("Camper", that was the original guitar recording from which the guitar sample in "Moment of light" came from), organic textures mixing field recordings and processed sounds, strings, spoons, recording his own voice at "Sinus", and influenced by the previous work of 5alad in some sounds (The yamaha CX5m sounds and the commodore 64 drum at "Pizzicatto spoon"). This EP of 8 tracks closes the chapter of "I feel apocalyptic today", but also starts to show part of the next work, a monoceros "sèries monocromàtiques" focused on field recordings, without instruments. www.archive.org
