Ricardo Montalban - 1975 Chrysler Cordoba Commercial

Ricardo Montalban - Chrysler Cordoba Commercial Nov. 25, 1920 - Jan 15, 2009 RIP This is the commercial where most of us mistakenly thought Ricardo said "Rich Corinthian Leather" when he actually said "Soft Corinthian Leather". It was a marketing term invented by Chrysler to help sell cars and who can forget it? The commercial, itself was very well conceived. If you listen, through the distorted audio, you hear Spanish guitar and orchestra playing along with Ricardo's wonderfully accented sales pitch. When you bought this car, you weren't just buying a car! You were buying the luxury to be swallowed in seats upholstered with "Soft Corinthian Leather"... You were buying a Cor-doa-bah! Disclaimer: It has been recently pointed out that that car in this commercial is really a 1976 and the seats are cloth, not Corinthian leather. So much for continuity.

Cordoba - Ricardo Montalban

"I know my own needs..." Cordoba = best car advert ever. Fair play to "Cannikin", he seems to have had this idea around the same time I did - and beat me to uploading it by a fortnight Here is his version youtube.com Anyway, I spent so much time collecting Khan video and changing the name of the ship that I felt I should still have a go. So here's my version of the Cordoba ad, featuring...... Khan! PS. This was made when he was still alive. If only he'd been able to see it, I'd like to think he might've chuckled at the video... RIP Ricardo Montalban.

Buy the movie here: www.cduniverse.com Music: Richard Rodgers / Lyrics: Oscar Hammerstein II Prince: Ten minutes ago, I saw you I looked up when you came through the door My head started reeling, you gave me the feeling The room had no ceiling or floor. Ten minutes ago, I met you, and we murmured our how do you dos I wanted to ring out the bells and fling out my arms and to sing out the news. I have found her, she's an angel, with the dust of the stars in her eyes. We are dancing, we are flying, and she's taking me back to the skies! In the arms of my love, I'm flying, over mountain and meadow and glen. And I like it so well that for all I can tell I may never come down again. I may never come down to earth again. Cinderella: Ten minutes ago, I met you. And we murmured our how do you dos. I wanted to ring out the bells and fling out my arms and to sing out the news. Prince: I have found her. Spy Magazine's How to Be Famous: The Montalban Experiment

In the 80s and 90s, Spy magazine did a couple specials about celebrity life...in this one, "How to Be Famous" (hosted by Jerry Seinfeld!) they elegantly demonstrate the weird power of fame by use of Ricardo Montalban on a crowd of people. His celebrity controls them.

Sid Meier's Pirates! - Marquis Montalban's Hideout (Swashbuckler difficulty)

*PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING* There aren't too many videos of this game. This is, as the title says, Sid Meier's Pirates, an action-adventure sandbox whatever game, remake of the original Pirates from 1887 and Pirates Gold from 1993. In this gameplay video, I attack the main villain Marquis Montalban's hideout. There are two parts to this fight. First, is a land battle against mercenary indians. (scouts and archers) The AI seen in this fight could be considered an offense to natives. Just watch how stupid moves it makes. The AI in other land battles isn't too great either... but yeah. The second part is a swordfight against the Marquis himself. This is the hardest swordfight in the game. Marquis Montalban will always wield a rapier, and has both lightning-quick offense and defense. So, on the highest difficulty, Swashbuckler, you really need to be quick. For this fight, I pick the cutlass, since most of the time you'll need to be just dodging and parrying attacks. Taunting doesn't really help much in this fight. As you can see, my strategy was mainly to wait until he does a high chop, quickly duck and then thrust. Obviously I don't keep to it all the time, hence the mistakes. I had all of the items that would help me in the fight (metal cuirass, silk fencing shirt, set of perfectly balanced swords) but I didn't pick the skill of fencing this time. (I took medicine, that's more useful later in the game) Sorry for the rather poor quality, that's all, enjoy.

An apology in advance; I've never tried this before! The sensual musical background is from one who might have been the "Queen of Tango!" Not to get too technical, but she made an enemy of her countrywoman, the fabled "Evita Peron," and never really could get over in the place of her birth. She did beautifully in Mexico, the US, and the rest of the world. Hope you like her exotic song accompanying two of the loveliest people in the world. Know this clip has already been beautifully represented here on YT, but not with this unique background. Hope you'll enjoy!DISCLAIMER: All rights reserved to the production companies and music labels that distributed and produced the music and performance respectively. Sid Meier's Pirates! Marquis Montalban's Hideout + Lost City of the Aztecs (Swashbuckler) HD

Beating the evil Marquis Montalban in his hideout. He is guarded by 7 seven units of indians and archers. It is important to do this fight before your character becomes too old for fencing, if you want to beat him. My character is 28 years old with skill at medicine (aging slightly delayed), at this point. I have a set of perfectly balanced swords (fast attack), silk fencing shirt (fast dodging) and leather vest (chance to arsorb minor thrusts). The leather vest can be upgraded to a metal cuiraiss which is slightly better. Pistols are of no use, in this fight. The lost city of the Aztecs happened to be in the same place.
