MPC5000 SAMPLE CHOPPING WORKFLOW TUTORIAL. MY FORMULA FOR SPEED SAMPLE EDITING AND CHOPPING ON THE MPC 5000 . These are the steps I take to easily get a sample on beat and ready to chop. Done in this order it saves me more time then manually detecting the tempo of the sample and then time-stretching it. The order is: 1. Loop your sample ,making a perfect loop saves you time when you do your chopping later. *This step (Looping The Sample) is optional you can skip it and just go into step 2,but I think it`s worth doing to save you time later* 2. Adjust the tune of your sample while playing your sequence. Drums/percussion are easiest to follow. Do not worry about the tune/pitch you end up with, just get the sample to sync on beat. 3. Now Pitch-shift the sample *Pitch-shift allows you to adjust the tune/pitch with out effecting the length* 4. Now chop the sample,I find the best way is to chop in quarter bar sections. Four sections for every one bar,so if it`sa 2 bar loop chop it into 8 parts and so on* FULL 3 HOUR MPC5000 INSTRUCTIONAL DVD NOW ON SALE AT WWW.AKAIMPC.COM ALL THE FEATURES OF OS2.0 ARE COVERED ON THE DVD AS WELL DIRECT ORDER PAGE LINK WWW.AKAIMPC.COM AKAI MPC USERS MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT OTHER MPC INSTRUCTIONAL DVD`S ON THE MPC2000XL/MPC2000,MPC2500,MPC1000,MPC500 ,AND NOW THE MPC5000
