The King Blues -04- Mr Music Man

The King Blues are a protest band accredited for fusing ska and folk rock together with influences from punk rock and hardcore punk. They originate from London, England. Influences include Public Enemy, The Clash, The Specials and Minor Threat. The King Blues started off as a two man ska outfit, consisting of Itch playing ukulele/vocals and Jamie Jazz playing acoustic guitar and contributing vocals. Current member Jamie Jazz used to work in a music/guitar shop called Rock Around the Clock up in north London in Crouch End/Muswell Hill, however Jamie realised that in order to put The King Blues at the top, he had to leave his job. Whilst this was going on they then expanded to include a second acoustic guitar and a bassist, before again expanding to include two full-time percussion members. Their sound was initially described as "soulful ska with raw folk and a punk rock attitude" or "conscious rude boy ska"

Mr Music Man - Tommy Edwards - 1958 played on a 1950's Garrard RC88/4 changer

I thought this was a nice Tommy Edwards tune as most all his are, and could not find it posted. The record is not in the best of condition and I did the best I could with it to elminate some of the surface noise and scratches. I decided to upload anyway with no filtering of any kind as the true vinyl people know how to mentally filter out scratches to listen to a good tune. I really like this new found Garrard turntable, it is in remarkable like new condition, and operates like new. It doesn't even hesitate cycling on 16 RPM. I really like the 1950's styling of this changer with its chocolate brown finish and blonde finished base. It really has that classic 1950's hi-fi look

Mr Music Man - The King Blues (covered by George Millo and some Kenyan schoolkids)

When I lived in Msambweni in Kenya for a month, a few kids from the local school would come to the house every day and get me to play guitar for them. This is us singing 'Mr Music Man' by the King Blues. The kids' names are Ali, Ngozi and Shofa (I never found out their surnames). They are awesome and I miss them.
