ILOQ security alert. This lock, produced in Finland, is an award-winning patented electromechanical cylinder. We have analyzed this lock and believe it has fatal design defects which allow cylinders to be opened covertly within one minute. We released an earlier alert in 2010. The Kaba 5000 lock that is programmed for remote open option can be quickly opened by bypassing one of the contacts on the printed circuit board behind one of the LEDs. If the lock is ordered with the remote open kit, it can still be unlocked in similar fashion.

The CX5 Corporation produces what they refer to as a "high security" deadbolt, which is a knock-off of the popular Medeco Maxum deadbolt. The CX5 is defective in design and can be opened in seconds with an inexpensive screwdriver. CX5 management refused to return repeated phone calls from Security Labs regarding this defect.
