The twins from next door, Tommy and Dolly, move out and go to a old peoples home. Nan Taylor: They've carted poor Tommy and Dolly off to the nut house. Jamie: Nan, it's not a nut house. It's sheltered accommodation. Nan Taylor: Call it what you like, love, they'll still be splashing about in their own piddle come teatime. Nan Taylor is very upset about her old friends Tommy and Dolly leaving the neighbourhood, two people she knew ever since they were evacuated together during the war. When Jamie brings a present that Tommy and Dolly left for Nan, the old woman is less than impressed: a wooden squirrel? Suddenly, Nan Taylor can't say a kind word about the two friends.
