www.nfb.ca/ This feature-length documentary introduces viewers to Ken Carter, a Montreal-born stunt driver who made a living by risking his life. The film shines a light on the intense preparation that led to Carter's first attempt to jump a car across a mile-wide stretch of the St. Lawrence River -- a 5-year period during which the dare-devil raised a million dollars, erected a 10-storey take-off ramp and built a rocket-powered car.

1947, 11 min - National Film Board of Canada Directed by Jean Palardy, Arthur Burrows ................................................................................... Full Movie: www.nfb.ca More Info: www3.nfb.ca ..................................................................................... Montréal, on a summer's night, presented as a pot-pourri of contrasting sights and sounds. The Indian village of three hundred years ago is now North America's second port and, after Paris, the world's largest French-speaking city. Its historic and religious shrines, its elevators and warehouses, the offices, homes and clubs of its merchant princes, its glittering night-spots and amusement parks, its streets with their outside corkscrew stairways--are all seen as the bright background to the happiness of boy and girl.

Well in my graphic design class I had a trip to the National Film Board Of Canada, in downtown Toronto. There we had to make public service announcements on current issues that we believe aren't emphasized enough in our everyday lives. Here are the ones from our section of the people at the trip. The one my group did was the ANOREXIA one, with the really skinny girl looking in the mirror and seeing a fat girl.
