Classic Game Room HD reviews the SNK NEO-GEO CD from 1994. This CD version of the amazing Neo-Geo AES plays many of the same games in CD form. Plagued by awful loading times thanks to the 1x speed CD drive in the game system, the NeoGeo CD is the least popular Neo Geo out there but CGR thinks it is a good buy for those looking for SNK games and Japanese release for a better price. The Neo Geo CD has no region encoding and will play Japan region Japanese Neo Geo video games (I've only tested with an NTSC Neo Geo CD). The Neo Geo CD has composite video, S-Video and stereo audio. Plays audio CDs. Neo Geo CD consoles can be had for a fraction of the price that the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo MVS sell for. Games are usually much less money as well. Classic Game Room reviews the SNK Neo-Geo Pocket Color handheld game console from 1999! This sequel to the black and white NeoGeo Pocket had color and higher hopes but still failed to gain a foothold against the Nintendo Game Boy and Sega Game Gear. Lack of a backlit screen and small software library kept the SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color to a niche market, but that doesn't mean it isn't awesome. The Neo-Geo Pocket Color is a 16-bit hand held videogame console with games like Samurai Shodown and Gals Fighters that have a catchy cartoony look and awesome gameplay. It has a thumbstick instead of a D-pad and two buttons. Because of the non-backlit screen the Neo Geo Pocket has excellent battery life. Its design is pleasing and the SNK NeoGeo Pocket Color has a handy portable size which fits your hands well and makes gameplay comfortable. Note: If you viewers are wondering how there's extra SP meter in the combos in the video, it's because Athena's special move gives anyone extra meter if you touch her plant (she summons a plant that pops up right before the opponent uses some meter). So therefore this video does not use infinite SP meter and plays on default settings.

Classic Game Room reviews DOUBLE DRAGON for Neo-Geo CD from 1995, based on the awesome Double Dragon movie from 1994 (not so much). This is a fighting game similar to SNK fighters like The King of Fighters or Street Fighter instead of a side scrolling beat 'em up like the NES version of Double Dragon. Play as Billy or Jimmy or other characters and fight in traditional 2D style one on one fighting matching. This fighting videogame for Neo Geo CD is not one of th better games but also not the worst. It features basic controls, sub par visuals and irritating music but has some serious cheesy style that is enjoyable. This side scrolling horizontal SHMUP from 1995 is a popular, beloved side scroller for the Neo Geo but does it live up to the hype and the high price tag? Pilot a space ship against waves of enemies, dodge alien laser blasts, mechanized crushy things and tentacles, you know the drill.... if it moves shoot it. Fans of the R-Type series should love Pulstar. The oversized, slowly moving space ship flies through tunnels and environments on its way to fight end bosses and mindless waves of enemies. Pulstar stands out because of the crushing difficulty and amazing visuals. Graphically this is one beautiful game with some stunning animations and art design. Although Pulstar does suffer from slowdown and horrible loading time, if its sci fi space ship shooter action you crave then Pulstar has got what you need. Ironclad by Saurus for the Neo Geo system. This horizontally scrolling shooter was originally only released for the Neo Geo CD system but in 2009 was also released for the Wii Virtual Console. The game features a choice of three different craft: scout, fighter and bomber. Your craft has a pod attached to it which can be used in various different ways as shown in the video. One really cool thing about the game is that there are various different routes through the game which you can choose including even multiple different final stages each with their own unique boss. Ironclad is a very good shooter well worth checking out. The game is known in Japan as Chotetsu Brikin'ger. This is being played with Nebula on a PC using an actual original Neo Geo CD copy of the game. Unfortunately the intro got a bit messed up in the recording but at least you can hear the cool intro music.
