Olia Lialina - Agatha Appears, Net Art 1997

Agatha Appears was started as a pure art project, funny story about two young people who meet at night. Story combines principles of stage design, film montage and html documents, common internet stereotypes and net critics. It imitates the process of teleportation, but in the process of making Agatha appeared a new server www.teleportica.org, where datas of real people, who want to be teleported are stored. "From Net.Art to Tech Art, and what comes next" - Bruce Sterling

6th November 2011 -- Regional Museum of Natural Science The best way to understand the future is to look twice as far into the past. Fifteen years ago, "net.art" was created, to name a distinctly new form of art that used the Internet as its creative platform. Nowadays half the world's population is on the World Wide Web, and people have begun the speak of the "Legacy Internet" as an old-fashioned business. The novelty of the Internet as an art platform has gone away. New net-based institutions have sprung up: crowdsourcing, Processing software, Arduino controller boards, fabricators, and a maker-culture that shares its algorithms. Mobile art apps have appeared on handheld devices, as well as augmented-reality art forms that are digital but don't work on the Internet. Old analog distinctions between art, science, engineering, design and software coding are disintegrating. Many of yesterday's cultural controversies have not been settled — instead, they have been made irrelevant.
Revenances / netart / chatonsky drouhin 2000

The Revenance of the ghosts, of the separations and contact. The Revenance of fiction, of stories, of the history. Stepping the frontiers between ghost logic and virtual technologies. Ghost, fantasies, present and absent images. At night, the contact of the infra-mince of our skin. Bewitching our distances and solitudes. Proposing the viewer an NDE (Near Dead Experience) as a love story(ies).

earth net art, VIRTUELLE KUNST AUF GOOGLE EARTH
