NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE

nanoblock Neuschwanstein

This is a build of Schloss Neuschwanstein created by a company called nanoblock. Nanoblocks are 200% smaller than the equivalent Lego element. This build was over 5800 pieces, but the finished product is about 15in x 5in x 9in. This set has three rotating color LEDs in it also, which provide the really excellent light show at the end. It was not cheap, and I had to order it from Japan, but it was not a hard build, and I think it's really cool. This took me about a week to do, but that was mostly in building spurts of an hour or so at a time. The most difficult part was trying to keep the 6000 tiny pieces organized and not eaten by one of the cats.

Neuschwanstein

Neuschwanstein Castle (lit. New Swan Stone palace) is a 19th-century royal palace. Located on a mountain top in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, near Hohenschwangau and Fussen in southwest Bavaria, the palace was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner, the King's inspiring muse. Ludwig did not allow visitors to his castles, but since its opening in 1886, over 50 million people have visited the Neuschwanstein Castle. About 1.3 million people visit annually, with up to 6000 per day in the summer. Neuschwanstein is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. In 2007, it was a finalist in the selection of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The video is taped from nearby Marienbrucke (Mary's Bridge) over Pollat Gorge, named after Marie of Prussia, which provides a spectacular view of one of Neuschwanstein's facades. "The view from up above is enchanting, especially the view from the Marienbrucke on the castle, which will far outshine the Wartburg for all its acknowledged merits of location, architectural splendour and magnificent paintings," wrote King Ludwig II in a letter in 1881.

Neuschwanstein Castle is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most beautiful castle in the world. It is the most photographed building in Germany. For more info on Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany, visit: www.worldsiteguides.com "..The construction of the breathtaking Neuschwanstein Castle began in the summer of 1868, when up to eight meters of stone were outcropped to make way for the foundation of the castle. In June the next year, the new access roads which would enable the transportation of material to site were completed. On September 5th the very same year, the foundation stone was laid and the real construction had begun. Despite its medieval look, the last building techniques, material and innovations were used in the construction of Neuschwanstein Castle. The foundations were cemented and the walls were built of brick with light-colored limestone used merely as cladding."

Castle Neuschwanstein Revisited

This is only for those who love this castle. Others will not understand. Included are very rare pictures of the castle both outside, from above and INSIDE. Normally this is not allowed, so this is a rare treat. Please understand that this video is saving you the thousands it would cost you to get there, without having to pay the high entry fee, or fly to the area. -- Ok, with that out of the way, the emphasis on the outside will be to try and show you the architechture. How it FEELS to be there. To stand and look around. This is the only real fairytale castle in the world. I was going to include pictures of while the castle was being built, but that made the video even longer, and there is a time limit on how long YouTube videos can be. I may make another about that, since I now have the pictures, at various stages of completion. This is yet another video I would have wanted to find on YouTube but none existed because of the restictions on photography inside. This will be a rare treat for those who cannot go, or have already been, and with no pictures of the inside, want to enjoy it again. - With love to you. - If you enjoy this video, you and I share a great common interest. - I Love this Castle.
