Explosion at French nuclear plant; 1killed


There was an explosion at a nuclear plant in Marcoule in southern France. There is a risk of a radioactive leak at the Marcoule nuclear site, emergency services said. According to reports, the site is partly used by French nuclear giant Areva to produce MOX fuel which recycles plutonium from nuclear weapons.

A powerful earthquake has struck off Japan's north-eastern coast, shaking buildings in Tokyo and forcing people out of their homes. No radars over China frontier, confirms IAF chief

Tributes pour in for Jagjit Singh


It's an end of an era.The King of Ghazals Jagjit Singh succumbed to his injuries at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. The 70 year old Singer had suffered a brain haemorrhage last month and had undergone two surgeries with over 80 albums and innumerable hit scores under his belt, he was awarded India's third highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, in 2003.Jagjit singh is survived by his wife Chitra singh.
