I made this in 2004 for a talent show in my senior year of high school. However, due to the entry deadline creeping up on me, I turned it in to the review committee half finished. I filled the empty space with time lapse footage of me driving around, which sucked, and as such they rejected the submission. So, 4 years later, actually on my 22nd birthday (2 days ago) I dug out the tape it was on and filled the boring parts with film of a stop motion robot, Rubix cube and electronics. Also, I put in flash animations and film of cool toys I have. All the stuff I added I specifically made for this video. I am a huge Neil Young fan and if you are too, I hope you enjoy it!!!! The grave of Herms Niel (1888-1954), German composer
Grave of German composer Herms Niel (today best known as author of the marching song "Erika"), filmed by yours truly in April this year. Herms Niel was born as Hermann Nielebock on 17. IV 1888 in the village with the same name (Nielebock, near the town of Genthin), as son of a small farmer. He studied music in Genthin, in the local orchestra, after which he began his military music career as a musician in the elite band of the 1st Foot Guards in Potsdam. After WWI, which he spent as a bandmaster in the 423rd Infantry Regiment, Niel was demobilized and worked as a tax official until late 1920s, when he started working as a small arranger with his older colleague, Hans Ailbout (1879-1957), who was already a respected composer and conductor. In 1929, this duo created the song "Im Rosengarten von Sanssouci", which became a huge hit and remained Niel's most recorded song until the end of the WWII. After nazis came to power in Germany, Ailbout's career was suddenly stopped (because of his Jewish background), but Niel's, on the other hand, started rising. In the first year of the III Reich, Herms Niel got the opportunity to make his very first recordings and soon after he joined the nazi party. The same year, 1933, he also composed his first international hit, funny polka "Marie - Mara - Maruschkata", which was translated in several languages. In 1934, after composing hits like "Liebchen, ade" (still popular today, especially in the Brandenburg district), Niel became a <b>...</b>
