
To comprehend the story of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, it is helpful to understand that Yahweh is a composite character synthesized by Abraham, chiefly derived by combining Enki and Enlil. Therefore, when we are told of Yahwehs opposition to the Tower of Babel, what it really means is that Enlil was opposed. The hallmark of Enlils character is his oppression of humankind.
