It ranges from Kashan to Ardestan over more than 100 km and is mainly composed of igneous (plutonic and volcanic), pyroclastic and somewhat sedimentary Tertiary rocks. In the central part, this mountain chain consists of a Precambrian-Paleozoic basement. The highest peak of the Karkas Mountains is 3895m which is close to Natanz. The Karkas Mountain Chain is not only located in the center of Iran, but also has been the center of emergence of many ancient industries in Iran. The Karkas area encompasses parts of the Orumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt and the northern part of the Qom-Ardakan depression belt (the area between Dagh-e Sorkh playa and the salt lake). Different geological and natural features such as diversity of rock types, existence of two structural and accumulative units in the area, a 3000m elevation difference in an area within only 30km2 width, diversity of sediments and vegetation, presence of abundant faults, and geographic location (location in the crossroad of the south and north of the country) have facilitated forming and settlement of different cultures and civilizations in this area. Syriac christian orthodox sacred chant performed by the Choir of Nouri Iskander from Aleppo (extract from the french documentary "Le Silence des anges - Terres et voix de l'Orient orthodoxe", by Olivier Mille et Jean-François Colosimo, France - Belgique, 1999) "Nouri Iskandar was born in Aleppo in 1938. He studied at the higher institute of music at the University of Cairo and was graduated with BA degree in music. He worked with composing Syriac folk music since the early sixties where he composed the most famous Syriac folk songs like "O habibo habibo", "Zliqe frsi", "Lo tehfokh" and others. In 1973 Nouri Iskandar presented the first professional Syriac musical festival at the Auditorium of the UNESCO Palace in Beirut, when he presented the Syriac folk music in a very modern and cultural manner. Nouri Iskandar composed large number of Syriac folk songs. His most famous work is Parqana (Salvation) a Syriac operate, Solo violin with string quintet and Solo oud with string trio beside tens of film music. Of his famous works, the Castle of Aleppo´s concert in 1997, he represented the Syrian Arab folklore songs proving that their original source is the Syriac church hymns. With respect to church music he notated Beth Gazo (The Treasury of Chants) of the Syriac church, according to the Edessian school of rhythms. This work is unique in the documentation of church music. This is the second part of the interview, including 7 videos. After about 14 years, I had a chance to meet my Music Master, Ostad keivan Saket again in Los Angeles, California. These video series are made to introduce Mr. Saket, as an outstanding Iranian Musician, composer and Tar / Setar Player to the Persian community in USA. I tried to cover nearly all aspects of his life, from his personal life to his interpretation of Persian Classical Music, as well as his current and future programs. I would like to express my special thanks to Mr. Saket for his time and also Dr. Sam Nikou, Mrs. Sara Zare and Mr. Bahman Omrani for helping me to record the interview.
