Hey guys, and welcome to my new Let's Play: An LP of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario's latest 2D platforming adventure! Princess Peach has once again been kidnapped by Bowser, his mini-me Bowser Jr., and the seven rascals formally known as the Koopalings, whose reappearances in a Mario game are surprisingly not the only nostalgic reference this game contains. This game is so full of nostalgia that after my first playthrough of this gem, I could already feel like I was playing old school Super Mario Bros., Bros. 3, and World all over again. Of course, this game will never completely recreate or replace those classics, but it is definitely a game I loved enough to do an LP of. :P This will be a 100% playthrough of the game which means, normal completion, all secret exits found, all star coins obtained and spent, and basically getting "5 stars" on the file select screen. Also, even though this game is known famously for its multiplayer, this will only be a single player LP. Sorry guys if co-op is your cup of tea. Hope you enjoy!

[Spoiler Warning] Part 2 of beating New Super Mario Bros Wii in 26:31 with no powerups (from first mario control to last mario control (including all mandatory cut-scenes inbetween); if you count from starting a new game to being returned to the main menu after the credits, it's 33:55). This is my "wee" Mario speed run of NSMBW, subject to my own stipulation that Mario must remain little the whole time (eg no power-ups including checkpoint flag growth or tiny mushrooms). Note that Yoshi is not a power-up (he isn't in the chart of items accessible from the map by pressing 1). Accordingly, this speed run video would have to be considered segmented, but what I show here is what could be done all at once at this same speed. Since my only goal was to beat the game as quickly as possible with just little mario, you won't see me go out of my way for coins, stars, or score. If you don't have the game yet, I should let you know that there is of course a TON more to this game, but I leave that for you to enjoy yourself! So I obviously hacked the game. This is a stage in development, but it's pretty far along now so I decided to show it off. Basically, you have to beat at least one Koopaling to win. Doesn't matter who it is. Right now, only Ludwig attacks by default, the rest of them need to be hit if they are to attack you which gives you one bonus shot against them. But even then, it's pretty difficult and relies on some luck to win. Some bugs need to be worked on, such as when Lemmy scrolls a bit off screen on the left and cannot be hit. The biggest one being that only one Koopaling attacks automatically at a time. I'm not sure if that's even fixable at this point.

Requested by NickThaHitman. Also kind of requested by xerothehedgehog because he wanted to see any Mega Man level in general. Anyways, this level took like an hour to make, and then an extra 10 minutes to fix a few things up after testing the level. I have to say though, this level came out great. I'm actually satisfied with the way it turned out. The only problem with it though was that you were supposed to battle a Koopaling (Iggy to be exact) when you went through the boss door. Oh well. I also had to improvise with a few things (as usual). What I mean is, a lot of enemies were replaced with things. Like the midway boss was replaced with a giant piranha plant and the basic machine enemies were replaced with giant hammer bros. I think I fit the enemies about right. Enough about me, just watch the video! Enjoy! Download: rvlution.net I will start hosting my levels on the Rvolution forums, because they have a section for uploading custom NSMBWii levels. (To play the level, simply download the file into a folder on the root of an sd card. Name the folder "nsmb". Then use the Homebrew Channel app known as Riivolution to load it. You will need the NSMBWii pallet though. After you have all this, just load the game through Riivolution and you should be all set).

Mario's back to normal size here, it seems. I think everything is self-explanatory here. One thing of note, however, is that since this is the second time I finish the game under this save file, Peach says, "Tell me all about your big adventure again!" The first time Mario finishes the game, she says, "Have I told you about the Secret World yet?" This Secret World happens to be World 9, the Rainbow Path. It's a series of challenge stages named 9-1 through 9-8, each of which is unlocked through getting every Star Coin in the World corresponding to the number after the hyphen. It's also nice to see the Koopalings and Bowser remaining safe and sound. But where's Kamek?

This patch is temporary and only works when you load through Riivolution. Make sure to use a separate save file. All of the levels in World 1 are patched so far, more to come soon!
