Multitouch (nuigroup.com) with LED
Some experiment i did a while ago with a superbright blue led (i think somewhit 15cd or so). On the borders of the plexiglass u can see the holes i drilled for the real ir-leds (which ill put in later). On the left side is some alu-foil which i put there in order to keep a max of the light 'within' the plexiglass layer. looks nice. ill do more of that when im done with my tests!

LED-LP 19" Widescreen Multi-touch LCD - First Tests
This is my first video of the LED-LP (LED-Light Plane) 19" Widescreen Multi-touch LCD prototype I am building. There are a total of 40 IR LED's around the LCD panel, a PS3 Eye Webcam mounted behind the LCD module, and tbeta running for the blob detection. ORIONmt NASA WorldWind Multi-Touch Zoom & Pan Test1
This is the first test of my NASA WorldWind Multi-Touch Plugin. It uses Touchlib's OSC and NASA WorldWind 1.4. The Video was filmed on my ORION Multi-Touch DI setup. This test is to show the Zoom and Pan functionality since the modification to the code for panning sensitivity at different altitudes. There is still the adding of the 'Tilt' function to come, and the 2 finger rotate bug to be fixed properly. I will post more when the code is improved. More tests to come... A closer look at XNA and Multitouch
For one of my Maker Faire projects I created a multi-touch table. This was very easy to do primarily because the multi-touch community - the NUIGroup - provide some free to use software for determining and tracking multiple touch points. Additionally, I was also able to use another application from an NUIGroup member written in XNA - Microsoft's games development framework. In this video I take a less than ten minute walk through of the application to share some of how it works.

ORION V2 Laser Test 1
This is my first attempt at implementing a cheap IR laser into the ORION V2. Essentially the laser creates a horizontal beam of InfraRed light approx 1mm off the glass, which is broken when fingers make contact with the surface of the glass. This results in the IR camera seeing a bright 'Blob' where the finger has touched the glass. A great solution to the limitation of using the Multi-touch screens during the day or under a lot of ambient lighting. A big thankyou to AlexP for the Laser idea! This is the Performance of Rapa Nui group Tautanga but nowadays Vaenga is not member of it already, I think. There is a very deformed picture (because it was recorded too much from below and that`s why on men`s bodies are very shortened legs) and visual quality is low. Never mind ! It is very - very good video with wonderful singing. Vaenga (pleasant leader in the middle with observable great smile) looks like formerly singer Prince, in this video. Really ! It is possible to see it when an objective makes a nearer film shot on Vaenga in the middle of your screen. I love all those Vaenga`s shouts and his marvelous singing in this video. Vaenga is very gladsome person here and it is possible to differentiate his singing from back singer singing. They both sing wonderfully. Cheap DIY whiteboard demo reel
Do it yourself method of building your own interactive whiteboard. The software uses the TUIO protocol to get the information on where the light pen is active. The rest just controls the mouse cursor (left clicks only). I focused on controlling presentations and brain storming. The software supports annotating the current screen contents and storing that to an image file. For the rest, the software is open source so feel free to expand upon it. I used a Playstation 3 camera (PS 3 eye) that I converted so that it could see infrared. I put a layer of exposed film over it so visible light is reduced as much as possible. As a result, a infrared LED soldered to a battery is all I need to control the mouse cursor. Info on how to make your own light pen and how to convert your PS3 eye can be found in the NUI group forums (and on many other places on the web): nuigroup.com The computer vision processing can be done with a Wiiremote but I chose to use a simple webcam (the PS3 eye) in stead. Install Computer Core Vision (CCV) and use it to send TUIO messages to the whiteboard application. CCV also facilitates the calibration method in a much more accurate way that I could easily implement myself.
