The following link is the English conversion. www.allthelyrics.com Jeanine Deckers (October 17 1933) - (March 29 1985), better known in English as The Singing Nun, was a Belgian nun, and a member (as Sister Luc Gabriel) of the Dominican Fichermont Convent in Belgium. She became internationally famous in 1963 as Soeur Sourire (Sister Smile) when she scored a hit with the song "Dominique". In the English language world, she is mostly referred to as "The Singing Nun". Born Jeanne-Paule Marie Deckers, she was a nun in the Dominican Fichermont Convent in Waterloo, Belgium. While in the convent, she wrote, sang and performed her own songs, which were so well received by the order and at retreats that the monastery decided to let her record an album, which visitors and retreatists to the monastery would be able to purchase. In 1963, the album was recorded in Brussels at Philips. The single "Dominique" became an international hit. Many radio stations in the US played it and other softer hits more often in the wake of the John F. Kennedy assassination. Overnight, the Dominican nun was an international celebrity with the stage name of Soeur Sourire (Sister Smile). She gave concerts and appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show on 5 January 1964. As of November 2009[update], "Dominique" is the only Belgian song that has ever been a number one hit single in the United States. This priceless 1992 ad for a product called Talens Rubber Cement is a television commercial that swept the Cannes International Advertising Film Festival, winning its Grand Prix award. Created by Spanish ad agency Casadevall Pedreno & SPR, and conceptualized by Eduardo Maclean. In the ad, a pair of very reverent young nuns discover that the penis has broken off from the statue of the Baby Jesus in their garden. They wrap it carefully in a lace handkerchief and take it to the Mother Superior, who happens to have a tube of Talens Rubber Cement in her drawer. Together the three return to the garden and Mother Superior delicately glues the poor baby's member back on, upside down. The surprise punch line occurs in the film's last two seconds as one of the younger nuns surreptitiously turns the penis up just before the rubber cement dries.

Anna Chan: Rather than just relying on prayer, a Buddhist nun is using her voice to help needy Nepalis in one of the world's poorest countries. The nun is funding her school for orphans by singing her way into the international charts. Ani Choying Dolma, a 37-year-old Tibetan-Nepali known as Nepal's "singing nun", has soared to global fame with her eight albums of Tibetan and Sanskrit meditation songs. She has performed more than 50 concerts in Europe, Asia and the United States, and more are lined up for this year in Germany. [Ani Choying Dolma, Singing Nun]: "The singing part comes just somehow. I did not really plan for it, but somehow it came up. It happened and then once I realized the benefit of using my own skill or whatever I'm blessed with and to be able to use it for the benefit of others. So I feel more productive." The income from her CD sales has helped Dolma build the Arya Tara School, which has 58 students drawn from poor Nepali families, including some from neighboring India and Tibet. A group of nuns from France answer the prayers of a major record company looking for the world's best Gregorian chant performers. A group of secluded nuns near Avignon, France, have signed a major record deal with Lady Gaga's record label. Decca Records chose the nuns after a worldwide search for the best female Gregorian chant performers. The nuns of the Abbaye de Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation shone above 70 convents across the globe. The nuns can now call Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, U2 and convent-educated Lady GaGa herself - label-mates. The nuns are part of an ancient order, dating back to the 6th century.
