An accompanying music video will be released in January, in part as a tribute to the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India. Having just returned from India after closing a deal to have their music featured in an upcoming animated Bollywood movie, The Bilz & Kashif felt they had a particular responsibility to create awareness of the effects of the on-going conflict in the region, especially on children. This is one of my favorite songs sung by Lea Salonga in one of her many, many concerts. Originally sung in acapella by Barry Manilow, Lea's rendition of this modern classic showcases the song's new brilliant arrangement done by Lea's brother Gerard, who was also her conductor in the concert, and of course her marvelous vocal prowess and command. This was performed during the concert celebrating the rededication of the Statue of Liberty in July 1986. A unique performance in that it marries the arranging talents of Barry and the wonderful John Williams. Within each spiritual tradition there is a mystical thread that leads to the vision of ultimate truth. Each spiritual path has its own language, cognitive framework, and series of practices that act as guides along one's inner journey. Whatever the tradition or spiritual path, however, the experience of ultimate truth is the same non-dual reality. For thousands of years there have been misunderstandings between traditions, each claiming that their scriptures and teachings represent the true path to inner purification and spiritual freedom. However, these misunderstandings merely reflect the differences in world history, cultural milieu, belief systems, and thought processes that subtly influence those individuals who reveal mystical visions during their lifetime.
