Opamp "echo remove" & "phase sound" audio bandpass filter


This filter was specially designed to correct afterwards (after the recording) audio recordings with a lot of echo, eg in churches. The voice/sermon is weak, compared to the echoes and the background broadband audio noise. And each cough sounds like a gun shot. This filter cuts off high and low frequencies, so that the recorded voice gets more "presence". This only works with the 50 K potentiometer in a certain position (see video). Because it is a very sharp audio filter, it also adds (some) noise, e,g, as if the sound is heard via a "pipeline". (bandpass 2 KHz - 7 KHz). But, after all, the voice can be brought to the front and the echoes to the background. More audio in my book "Schematics 2, audio amplifiers and loudspeaker boxes" (author Ko Tilman). The circuit can also create something like a "phasing" sound.

Important: the used music (copyright free) does not give a very good demonstration about the properties from the filter, but... Audio filter with 3 characteristics. Profile 1: voices on the background, sound gets somewhat "warm" and "round". Profile 2: voices/singers get to the foreground, they are pronounced, also sharp sounds (guitar, piano, trumpet) get into the front. Profile 3: the bass is taken back (50 K potentiometer), the sound gets more or less neutral or flat. The profiles can be combined to a certain extent. The supply voltage must be 18 Volt, if so the circuit does not "clip" quickly. Perhaps it will also work on 12 V, I did not test this extensively (risk of clipping). More audio in my book: "Schematics 2, audio amplifiers and loudspeaker boxes", available on the Lulu website (author Ko Tilman). By the way: when you change the 1K5 resistor into a higher value (let us say 100 K or 220 K) it is possible to get more bass (experiment).

Design Example of a 1.5V-Powered, Oxygen Sensor Signal Conditioning Circuit . Oxygen sensors (O2 sensors) are commonly used in life safety and industrial applications. In life safety applications, O2 sensors are used to ensure that adequate levels of atmospheric oxygen are available in any confined space such as an inside an aircraft, in a lab, or in the field. In industrial applications (for example, in the vacuum packaging of food products), O2 sensors can be used to measure the absence of atmospheric oxygen to make sure bacterial growth is inhibited. In all cases, O2 sensors may be part of a portable handheld or body-mounted instrument - where low power consumption is essential - or as a part of a larger, embedded system. Although this design example is specific to an O2 sensor, the application circuit development here equally applies to other types of low-frequency or dc sensors. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while, a microphone preamp that has high and low cut filters, uses a 741 op-amp AND works from a single-rail supply. In this video I show nearly all the steps involved in making it, from first schematics right down to the finished preamp. Also I show a little tutorial on how simple it is to wire up an opamp and an easy way to choose what resistors to use. Note: I go a bit random in this video, plus there's some background noise from the neighbors and mum downstairs, but it would be a little boring without the occasional randomness. I would have uploaded this sooner, in-fact I did start to upload this yesterday but had to cancel it because while I was playing back the video I discovered that my video editor had messed up the sound. I was quite miffed about that, as not only did I have to re-edit the video, but also I have to type in all this info again.
