James and Alan Rice are owners of ChronoLogic Timing, a tiny company that makes high precision clocks and other devices for racing. They are also engineers, belly tank racers, world explorers, major players in historic speed events, and owners of the worlds fastest stuffed gerbil, Speedy. His position as timing stand mascot has allowed Speedy to go for world record setting rides with the likes of Andy Green and the Worlds Fastest Diesel and Tom Burkland in the Worlds Fastest Piston-Automobile. So far, Speedy has only been on one World Record Motorcycle ride with John Noonan when he set the FIM open wheel record but his caretakers, Alan and James, are looking for more world record motorcycle rides for him to go on. As gerbils go, Speedy is delightful. He is completely housebroken, a sharp dresser, polite, and a charming raconteur. He can, however, be a bragging namedropper if allowed. He has been on adventures around the world from China to Tunisia and raced at Talladega Speedway. He has ridden shotgun in a Humvee in Iraq, gone 822 mph in a rocket, been caving in Guatemala and has been north of the Arctic Circle. Speedy has met both Steve Fawcett and Stephen Hawking and dont get him started on the women he dates. I suppose if anyone has earned the right to brag it is Speedy, the worlds fastest stuffed gerbil.
