I'm playing the intro of Om Kalthoum's lovely song, Ba3eed 3annak (ie, Being away from you....is torture !), solo on Oud. The composer is Baleegh Hamdi, poet is Ma'moon Shinnawi. The song was first declared to the public back in 1965, but is still fresh till today ! A lovely song of Mohammad Abdel Wahhab, Ya Msafir Wahdak (ie, Travelling Alone..). I just love the melody and the harmonized transition between scales in that great song ! By the way, I'm playing this in a way very similar to that played by an oud guru Raid Koshab, a really great oud player and a fine musician. Wonderful Oriental Arabic Chill Out Music Oud

This is by far one of the most amazing pieces of the late great composer Mohammad Qasabji, who composed some of the greatest songs to the late Om Kalthoum. I'm playing this piece more like the way played by a great oudist (an Oud Professor actually) named Tayseer Elyas, within an amazing band known as Zeriab Trio.

Playing on my oud.... a really awsome song of Om Kalthoum "Hobb Eih" (ie, What Love...?!?!). I just saw the video of Om Kalthoum singing that great song, and remembered that great great music (by composer Baligh Hamdi), and decided to give it a try on the oud solo. Hope you like it !

This is by far one of my top favorite songs in history, by Om Kalthoum "Darit El-Ayyam" (ie, Days have Passed by......). Composer is the genius music guru Mohammad Abdil Wahab, Lyrics of Ma'moon Shinnawi, back in 1970. By the way, this very song was also sang by it's composer (Abdil Wahhab, Solo on the oud !!), as well as Abdil Haleem Hafez, in addition to Om Kalthoum. Appology for some shortcomings in this clip.
