On Thursday the 20th of May 2010, Samsung was the first to introduce a large-scale commercial 3D-Outdoor projection in the Netherlands, at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam. Between 22.30 and 00.30 on the evenings of the 20th, 21st and 22nd of May, the public was able to view the addition of a new dimension to this historic building. On the adjacent square, visitors are able to try out the new Samsung 3D LED TVs, and are offered a chance to win one of their own every night. Foursquare and YouTube will be used as a part of the integrated campaign.

'Casting Light' is a visual spectacle in the form of highly luminous projections onto the façade of the Ulster Bank building in the centre of Cavan town to run in conjunction with Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2011. This custom made, animated video imagery on the theme of contemporary Ireland was architecturally mapped onto the period buildings' façade. Avcom provided extremely bright high definition projection for the event. The alignment of the projection needs to be pixel perfect to achieve this spectacular effect.

We were worried they would think of something to book us for - but then they just checked my licence and said they wanted to check we weren't thieves, as we were "driving slowly and pointing a light into buildings" lol! So this was a really sweet project. Ricky and the boys hoisted 5 20K Christies up to the 4th floor balcony overlooking the plaza. The other two were stacked away on the ground and off at a 40 degree angle from the smaller building. We modeled the entire space in 3D and then created media for it in 3DSMax. Very cool. The media we created was designed to work directly with the architecture and synchronized to a music track created by our own Alex Oropeza. Some of the new guys did some really amazing work with the media, and the FireFrame software did the trick by synchronizing and blending all the projectors and fitting it perfectly with the old SF Mint building. The project was commissioned by one of our clients, McAfee, who are great to work with and really creative. Anyway, the project was amazing and may tour. Stand by.

The films (GAZE and Kaleidoscope) cycled from dusk till dawn. The Parkinson is one of the most recognisable buildings of Leeds. YouTube Play Projections by Obscura Digital. This is an interior and exterior projection show we designed for YouTube. We used the Guggenheim Museum in NYC as our canvas. Outside, we used 2 35000 lumen projectors that ran through our mapping engine to bled and warp to the surface. This was easy compared to the interior. Here we used 8 20K Christies to cover the entire inside of the rotunda. We mapped the projection back to the bands of the structure and took an HD IMAG feed into the system in real-time. The video generated on the structures were sampled in real time from the videos playing. This way, the videos created themselves around the bands and lighting cues were sent to the board based up on the predominant color of the video that was playing. Pretty cool.
