MUSEUM OF REZA SHAH PAHLAVI THE GREAT 1980

Reza Shah Pahlavi was the Shah of the Imperial State of Iran from December 15, 1925 until he was forced to abdicate by the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran in September 16, 1941. In 1925, Reza Shah overthrew Ahmad Shah Qajar, the last Shah of the Qajar dynasty, and founded the Pahlavi Dynasty. He established an authoritarian government that valued nationalism, militarism, secularism and anti-communism combined with strict censorship and state propaganda. Reza Shah introduced many socio-economic reforms, reorganizing the army, government administration, and finances. To his supporters his reign brought law and order, discipline, central authority, and modern amenities - schools, trains, buses, radios, cinemas, and telephones. However, his attempts of modernisation have been criticised for being too fast and superficial, and his reign a time of oppression, corruption, taxation, lack of authenticity. For many Iranian nationalists he is considered the father of modern Iran. He died in Johannesburg in 1944. Esmat Dowlatshahi, fourth wife of Reza, lays bouquet on statue. Reception in Iran, possibly at South African Embassy, for Princess Ashraf Pahlavi, twin sister of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi of Iran.

Prince Reza Pahlavi advises against a strike

In an interview with Israel's Channel 10, the exiled son of the toppled Shah of Iran has advised that Israel should not undertake a military strike on the Islamic Republic. Prince Reza Pahlavi: "We're not talking about Osirak here, we're talking about something that will entail such a campaign, that clearly means neutralising Iran's retaliation capabilities. Which means, a full fledged war. This is no longer a surgical strike." Prince Reza Pahlavi echoed a recent campaign run by both Israelis and Iranians which called for military action to be avoided. The prince advocated instead that Israel make technological and financial resources available to the Iranian people. Prince Reza Pahlavi: "The best option is to utilise the best army in the world in place ready to strike which is the Iranian people themselves. And if you don't help that, God help us all...I'll take my chance by telling people: I brought you the help of Israel to get rid of this regime by peaceful means as opposed to Israel bombing you which is exactly what the regime wants. Now it's your choice, which one is worse?" The Prince is an outspoken critic of Iran's theocratic regime. He argued that a strike by Israel will only strengthen the grip of the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Prince Reza Pahlavi: "The best thing you can do, for the regime, is to tell that we're going to come and attack you, or in fact attack it. You'll be giving Khamenei -- when they have no answers anymore to the country's ills -- the greatest ...

Reza Pahlavi On Israel

HM Reza Pahlavi speaking at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council about Israel in summer 2010, insinuating that since Iran (through Cyrus the Great) once saved and liberated the Jews, Israel should come to the aid of the Iranian people who are trying to regain their freedom. He states: "If I remember correctly, Cyrus the Great is the one king most quoted in the Torah (Bible) and there are special prayers to him every Sabbath." and continuing: When Iranians seeking freedom chant let's concentrate on Iranians instead of focusing on the situation with the Palestinians, they are asking the Iranian regime to set its priorities straight. Maybe for having saved the Jewish people once, Iranian people can ask the Jews/State of Israel to now return the favor and help them regain their freedoms and overcome the tyranny of the current Iranian regime.

Schah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi 1968

From 1941 until 1979, Iran was ruled by a constitutional monarchy under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The Shah used the country's oil-generated wealth and modernized the nation. He built rural roads, postal services, libraries, and electrical installations. He constructed dams to irrigate Iran's arid land, making the country 90-percent self-sufficient in food production. He established colleges and universities, and at his own expense, set up an educational foundation to train students for Iran's future. To encourage independent cultivation, the Shah donated 500000 Crown acres to 25000 farmers. The Shah protected minorities and ...
