"Le Tourbillon" - Jeanne Moreau - Jules et Jim

classic chanson-pop-musical moment from François Truffaut's Jules et Jim. When Jeanne Moreau sings a quiet but heartbreaking song. I love it.

Yeasayer - I Remember

A nostalgic look at a past in North Korea that I never had set to the haunting lyrics of Yeasayer's "I Remember" I found exciting the idea to recreate a set of memories using bootlegged footage from the extravagant "Arirang Festival" (officially known as: "Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance Arirang") held every year in the capital city of Pyongyang. Yeasayer's extraordinarily dreamy landscape presented in the song "I Remember" was my first and only choice. Dedicated to @çgrrrlz For more on Arirang you can check the Wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org Here are the lyrics for "I Remember": I remember making love on a Sunday bright golden hearts in a fresh cut grass in May woah I remember making out on an airplane Still afraid of flying, but with you I'd die today woah I remember the smell of your skin forever Love us being stupid together woah You're stuck in my mind all the time (x3) I remember Monday making your eyes red Still don't know what it is that I said woah I remember thinking this would never end Even when you're gone your eyes running through my head woah You're stuck in my mind all the time (x4)

The National - Slow Show

(ENGLISH) After having listened to The National's latest maginific album and realizing the scarce nmber of videos I decided to edit one video using this track and Godard's "Masculine-Feminine" was for some reason the natural way to give it companion.(SPANISH) Después de escuchar el magnífico álbum "Boxer" de The National y percatarme que no había ningún video aparentemente montado con esta pista utilicé "Masculine-Feminine" de Godard y tratar de hacer algo parecido a lo que me evocó la letra.

A Reminder

This is an experimental short film in the form of a music video. It is an examination of time and concrete built structures. I shot this in 2007 in Caracas, Venezuela on a very gloomy and moody afternoon.

Campions: Ecstasy, agony and apathy

This little documentary short film aims to provide my experience of the events of May 16th, 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. After the Barcelona fútbol team won the Spanish League title the city downtown hosted the joyous crowd that had erupted in wild but friendly celebration. Without little warning a few hours later an stampede of fans signaled the end of joy: the celebration had turned into violence and chaos. This took place from 10 pm until the wee hours of the morning. The haunting soundtrack is by Tim Hecker.

Broken Social Scene + Owen Pallette @Primavera Sound 2010 (1 of 2)

By far the biggest highlight for me during the first proper day of the Primavera Sound 2010, Broken Social Scene put on an unforgettable show that had me jumping and dancing from start to finish, playing them live was a dream come true. It was tight in execution but free-flowing in ideas for approaches, with the added luxury of having Owen Pallette doing a violin accompaniment this presentation had all the collaborative energy you could've imagined or asked for in a BSS performance. In this video: -Stars and Sons -All to All I apologize for the possible awful audio problems you might encounter during some passages of the video, as I was not using specialized equipment. If the performance hadn't been that awesome I wouldn't be posting it otherwise. About these "Primavera Sound 2010" video series: These were all shot with one simple amateurish Panasonic Lumix Camera, while I was enjoying the concert myself. I, as a professional video editor I couldn't help but to do something with it. Now with the raw footage I've tried to turn everything into an engaging experience I can share with everybody else. I hope I got close to pay respect to the amazing performances of the artists shown. The shortcomings of editing concert footage shot with only one (non-professional) camera are big, even bigger if when I shot these clips I wasn't really thinking of them beyond being a simple memento to look at one day. But now that I've decided to do something else with them I've resorted to ...

The Horror Moonz

Most of it was shot on Madrid's Chamartin district lonely streets, then mixed with footage taken from an old cellphone video I shot in Caracas to Los Teques' Carretera Panamericana. It was late at night in both places, it was full Moon in both places and the pulsating melody from the band The Horrors' Sea Within the Sea would have to wait even more to get into the mix. I was trying to create a disorienting effect much to my delight.

Terrible Love: A Story - Music by The National

One little elephant has been roaming Barcelona and Madrid's streets for months, relentlessly looking for his one good chicken friend after his sudden disappearance on a Mediterranean beach one tragic afternoon. Traces of the small chicken anywhere, yellow spots everywhere, is it him or is it just his hurt mind and imagination? Struggling against the elements of nature and the passing of time, he will do everything his tired body can do to find him, for as long as he can. Production Notes: This video was born out of love, no really! See I bought this adorable little elephant hand puppet in one trip to Budapest, Hungary where my grandmother lives. He was all by himself waiting for a friendly hand to bring him to life! I figured it would be very neat to show it one day to my beloved girlfriend who lives in NYC while we would Skype. But before doing that I found myself thinking larger, and so I began taking this little fellow and my camera to the streets, whenever I could. During months and by chance I would come upon great sightings and then I would make sure I would capture them, always using the little elephant as a witness. I had to learn not to feel embarrassed in public for moving a puppet with my left hand and shooting with my camera on the other, and pretend that what I was doing was perfectly normal. I would be going out to work with the Elephant in my bag in case I would come upon something great. The idea was to make a huge video-love letter during the times we've ...

Los Campesinos! @ Primavera Sound 2010 (1 of 2)

It was my second Los Campesinos! show. I'd been blasting their music through my stereo and earphones for quite a while when I first got to see them live in Madrid in 2008, fresh off their second album: We're Beautiful, We're Doomed. I was taken aback by their electrifying performance. Now with yet another new album "Romance is Boring" out (and endlessly looped on my HTC Hero) I was all ready for the second time! And boy they didn't let us down, one of the best bands I've ever seen on a stage, and below the stage for they splashed into the audience for the last couple of songs. A surreal and wonderful concert that will always be in my mind, I love these guys. In this video: "This Is How You Spell "HAHAHA, We Destroyed the Hopes and Dreams of a Generation of Faux-Romantics" and "The Sea Is a Good Place to Think of the Future" This concert took place on May 26th, 2010 as part of the warm-up concerts for the Primavera Sound Festival 2010 at a venue called Sala Apolo in Barcelona, Spain. The XX @ Primavera Sound 2010

My first time seeing The XX playing live was a tad underwhelming as I didn't know they would be so routinely subdued during their performance. Don't get me wrong it was still a very inviting and immersive experience and the almost perfect match of every beat with every shine of light had a hypnotic effect that left me partially satisfied. I'm trying infuse in the video some of the dynamism I wish it had been given by the band. First Aid Kit @ Primavera Sound 2010 (Sala Apolo) - Tangerine + Ghost Town

First Aid Kit opened for Los Campesinos! on May 26th, 2010 as part of a series of concerts of Primavera Sound 2010, prior to the main shows. This intimate show took place at a small venue called Sala Apolo in Barcelona, Spain. I hadn't heard of the Swedish duo before but I was mesmerized by their beautiful and heartfelt performance. Count me as a fan now. These two sisters play gorgeous delicate folk music. The showstopping moment came when they were able to make all the attendants silent, mute, so they could perform a song (Ghost Town) without microphones or amplifiers in true literal unplugged mode.
