Paul McGann tals to us whilst meeting fans at the Entertainment Media Show 2011 at Earls Court in London. Paul is an English actor who made his name on the BBC serial The Monocled Mutineer, in which he played the lead role. He is now perhaps best known for his role in Withnail and I, and for portraying the Eighth Doctor in the 1996 Doctor Who television movie and subsequent tie-in media. Paul talks to us about the possibility of being part of the Doctor Who anniversary celebrations next year and how it felt to take on the iconic role during the long awaited relaunch of the series. Is this the voice of Eccleston? Or perhaps McGann? Listen to the voice. I think it sounds very much like Eccleston. It would be a paradox - but again, they received (and sent) messages from long dead Time Lords. And he is travelling through time and space after all. And he says it's impossible. Perhaps it is supposed to be 9 right after he regenerated? Some of you would say that this is impossible because of the Time War. We don't know whether it was 8 or 9 in the Time War. And anyway, if it was 9, we wouldn't know _when_ he did it. It might not be the first thing he did after he regenerated to put it in that way. "If you are receiving this message, please help me. Send a signal to the High Council of the Time Lords on Gallifrey. I am still alive! I don't know where I am! I'm on some rock like planet!" The Doctor knows what this signal is - but he doesn't say. I need to add: In Doctor Who everything is possible.

I know I haven't uploaded much this year, I have been busy with other stuff and unfortunately with real life as well, which just gets grimmer and grimmer. Here is the pretitle's for Storm Warning, part of a project I was working on earlier this year. The short film of the R-101 also came out of this project. Much of the work here was on trying to get Paul McGann's face right, whcih I think I did in the end. The lipsyncing software (DAZ Mimic 3.1 and Crazytalk6) seems to struggle with noisy audios. www.bigfinish.com
