Openfire & Spark as an Microsoft OCS Replacement/Alternative: Our Experience #1

It can integrate to standard sip ip pbx's like 3cx and pbxnsip. Works very nice. Some tips we've found using it heavily: -how to start a group chat -how to make Spark look like a windows app -using the web chat login Note mentioned in the video: -my apologies: i'm using a new video mixing system! -Openfire does integrate to active directory -Openfire does not do sip internally but depends on a sip server like 3cx or pbxnsip. -Spark IM client has a VERY Nice SIP phone as an addon See more ip pbx and windows communication blog posts: dynamicssmallbusiness.blogspot... First Look at the snom ONE SOHO IP-PBX Appliance for Retail and SMB Markets

This video by Justin Ramirez takes a look at what the newly announced snom ONE SOHO IP Phone system looks like as well as goes over the features it offers. If you are familiar with the other snom ONE products or even PBXnSIP, this product offers the same functionality with full features and capabilities in this tiny appliance. This product has an MSRP of $299 and is ideal for doctor's offices, retail store chains, or any SMB customer needing 20 lines or less. The product comes with 10 extensions on it but it can be upgraded to a snom ONE Yellow which allows for 20 extensions. The snom ONE SOHO as well as all snom IP Phones are distributed in the US and LATAM by ABP Technology. We introduced snom in the US 11 years ago and we have the best support and stock all of these products. No one knows snom products better than us so contact us if you're a VAR or Integrator working in the SMB space. sales@abptech.com | 972-831-1600 | www.abptech.com

This is a first impression review of a web sip softphone that works with 3CX, Asterisk or any other standards based SIP IP PBX. Using Windows Mobile 6.1 as a SIP Phone Review

This tweak will allow Windows Mobile 6.1 to act as an extension to your SIP based IP PBX. You now have as many portable phones for your PBX as you have wm6.1 phones! Wow. Here is the How to Link: dynamicssmallbusiness.blogspot.com Some things I noticed: -Low volume (for you, other person fine) -power save move looses Sip registration -Dial rules need tweaked (dialing from phone book works) More: -pressing hold gives the caller pbx music on hold! -there is a transfer button that works! -and a conferencing button. I would say this is an experimental solution and not a production solution. But it sure does bring up some incredible possibilities. PS-If there would be a soluton to the power save and volume I believe this could be a production level solution. If someone has a volume solution, please post a comment here with a link to solution. thanks! This works with 3CX and pbxnsip. Note: Please don't give me bad rating ;-) because the audio doesn't line up! This is actually Youtube. My video is ok! ;-) I actually got a totally new mixing system and my video before I sent it to youtube lined up perfectly with audio! My Blog www.windowspbx.blogspot.com

SIP Trunking - illume Consulting Interview

Reports suggest that the SIP Trunking market is finally taking off in the UK, this growth being driven by a combination of the emergence of telecoms grade broadband, aggressive pricing and ironically...the recession. www.illumeconsulting.co.uk took the opportinty to ask some of the industry's leading figures about what they thought. illume predict that the quantity of SIP Trunking Channels deployed will grow by over 100% in 2009 and 10 fold by the end of 2011. Polycom CX300 Office Communicator Phone First Impression

I was very impressed with the Polycom CX300 Office Communicator phone. -Very solid feel, sits firmly on your desk -Nice white, backlit, Hi-res graphical display -Great Wide Band audio and speaker phone -Mike picks up great -No drivers required -Integral USB cable Cons -If you don't have OCS Enterprise Voice turned on, picking up the handset does NOT answer Communicator call or hangup. (you need to click on Communcator to answer) -On same token the presence LED/Logo on the CX300 doesn't work either -Need a PC for the phone to work. Broadband & VONGA in the UK | Part 1 of 2

Trefor Davies of Timico provides an interesting insight into the challenges facing Service Providers & consumers concerning the rollout of xDSL / BroadBand services particularly in rural areas. With the demand for emerging services such as VoIP and IPTV etc becoming hot topics how will the UK telecoms infrastructure cope? VegaStream manufacturers a range of VoIP gateways which connect customers' existing PBXs to Timico's VoIP network using the SIP protocol. Also customers who opt for a Hosted / IP-Centrex service choose Vega gateways both for analogue device connectivity (phones, faxes, cordless DECT, workshop bells etc) but also to maintain service when there is a problem such as a broadband outage. The built in resilience features will ensure that customers can continue to operate until normal service is resumed Links: www.Timico.co.uk http www.VegaStream.com http UK Manufacturer of VoIP Gateways since 1995

snom IPphones presents: Interview with CEO Christian Stredicke

snom.com presents Interview with Dr. Christian Stredicke: 1.What did Voice over IP meant to you when you started snom? Was it just an experiment or an investment into a future-proof technology? 2.and did VoIP develop that way you expected it to do? 3.What is so special about the open standard SIP?Wouldnt it had been easier and more profitable to develop and implement a proprietary solution? 4.Which product is your entire pride and joy? 5.Talking about security: Where are the risk in Voice over IP? 6.and is snom secure? 7.What about Wifi? Is that a topic that snom should pick up? 8.One last question: where does snom stand in 10 years?
