Graham Hancock Petroglyph & Rock Art tour, Utah

Entangled (US): amzn.to Entangled (UK): amzn.to Supernatural (US): amzn.to Supernatural (UK): amzn.to Prehistoric rock art, cave paintings and petroglyphs from all parts of the world show extraordinary similarities and even identical figures -- yet these ancient cultures were often separated by thousands of years of time and thousands of miles of geographical distance and were not in contact with one another. In this clip from a visit to rock art sites in Utah's canyon country, arranged as part of the October 2010 Reality Sandwich retreat at the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, Graham Hancock argues that shamanic altered states of consciousness, often brought on by the use of entheogenic plants, are the most likely answer to the mystery. For a more detailed explanation see Graham's last non-fiction book Supernatural: Meetings with the Ancient Teachers of Mankind. His first novel Entangled also delves into this mystery. Native American Indian Rock Art - Petroglyphs Pictograph

Native American rock art was an important art form for the Great Basin Indian people like the Paiutes. Many shamans created them as power points with celestial and animal references. They are scattered all over the Great Basin and they were even found in Yosemite and Hetch Hetchy Valley, which were once Paiute areas.

Arizona: Sedona's Petroglyphs

Featuring: Red Tank Draw, Petroglyphs, Montezuma's Well and pictures of Sedona, Arizona and Shoshone-Yokut warrior artist, Black Eagle - www.WarriorArt.com. From my visit on July 6, 2009. Ancient Sinagua and or Anasazi Indians used this area to travel from the higher mountainous regions (today's Flagstaff area) to the more open and fertile Verde Valley. These ancient travelers left interesting petroglyph images along the cliff walls in various locations. Montezuma's Well is a sinkhole, a collapsed underground limestone cavern filled with water. More than a million gallons of water a day flow continuously, providing a lush, verdant oasis in the midst of surrounding desert grassland. Montezuma's Well is 368 feet across and 55 feet deep; it sits at an elevation of 3618 feet. Native peoples started living in the region about 2000 years ago. The last known native peoples to inhabit the Montezuma Well area were the Western Apache. Two small caves at the well show signs of Apache occupation, sometime after 1800. http To get to Red Tank Draw, take 17 North to Hwy 618. Go right (east) on 618 Creek is on left can see it when you cross over the third bridge just before Southwestern Academy sign. To see the petroglyphs, continue crossing over the creek, and take the first right. The dirt road runs into the parking lot. Park there, and follow the wide path to the right all the way to the petroglyphs. There are other trails to follow. Stay on the wide path! TAGS: Sedona Beaver Creek ...

Reclaiming Their Voice, SAVING the PETROGLYPHS : Teaser

Peter Coyote narrates new documentary by Oscar-nominated Producer. RECLAIMING Their VOICE (filmed in New Mexico) follows the stories of two communities of Native Americans - one, an urban group representing many tribes; two, an intimate visit with members of the Laguna Pueblo. The film shows how these groups become informed and take stands in order to address serious voting issues. Their stories capture a microcosm of minority voter awareness and activism taking root across the United States. Scenes follow the Pueblo Revolt; the Sacred Alliance for Grassroots Equality's work to preserve Petroglyph National Monument; the Laguna tribe's groundbreaking voter registration drive; and the passage of legislation to support Native American voting rights. These stories demonstrate how communities are working together to ensure safer elections for everyone. "... both heartbreaking and eye-opening. A 'must see' to understand how fragile our democracy is." -NANCY STAPP KVOT Taos, New Mexico The Best News Series in the Nation

Petroglyph Rock Art Utah - Suspended Memories

Early Native American petroglyph rock art in the canyon lands of southern Utah. Some of the Fremont style glyphs photos were taken in the Nine-Mile Canyon area. Anasazi, Fremont, and Ute rock art. You can notice at photos 32 and 33, the glyphs are desecrated with modern graffiti and or were broken. Also one of the morphs towards the end had a circle scratched around it's head. A lot in the area also had many bullet holes as they must have been shot at in the 19th century western days. Music from Suspended Memories "First Man (Watakame)" also added music from Michael Stearns Steve Roach and Ron SunSinger.

Zuni Prophecies, Petroglyphs, Kachinas, UFOs, Aliens and Sacred Knowledge

"A Call to Zuni Youth: Clifford Mahooty Volume One" A new UFOHypotheses.com DVD effort has just been released on February 3, 2011, named "A Call To Zuni Youth: Clifford Mahooty Volume One," co-produced by Cosmic Chronicles and Under-Appreciated Science Productions, and is available for free viewing on YouTube. This fifty three-minute documentary features Clifford Mahooty, who is a Zuni Elder and member of the New Mexico tribe's Kachina Society. The Kachina Society jealously guards centuries of knowledge of contact between the Zunis with "star beings." Mahooty spent many successful years as a civil engineer, consistently advocating for the Zuni and all Pueblo nations, while dedicating decades of his life to his tribe's spiritual system. "A Call To Zuni Youth" is meant to engage the Pueblo nations, and especially the generations born from 1960 and later, as Mahooty frankly discusses Zuni prophecies, petroglyphs, kachinas, UFOs, aliens and the passing down of this sacred knowledge and spiritual system to the Zuni youth. Mysterious Petroglyphs Found in the Jungle

www.arte-amazonia.com---- -----------Petroglyphs of Venezuela ----------------- Most people know of mysterious places with pictographs found in the world such as the the caves of Lascaux in France, the petroglyphs of North America, of Africa, and the remains of the ancient Aztec and Mayan cultures of South America. However, few realize that there are places of equal importance scattered throughout Venezuela and the Amazon Region. Although a large number of petroglyphs have been documented in Venezuela, the mystery remains that a vast majority remain unpublished and in most cases undiscovered. Even with all the worlds modern technology, nothing can reveal the secrets etched in time that are now over covered with vines and jungle growth. Explorer Alexander Humboldt is attributed with the discovery of some of the most remotely found within Venezuela but most still remain lost the the memories of time. The question remains as to the significance of petroglyphs. Why are they (with such similar line and form) found all over the world? How did people get to these far corners of the world? In some case, one can observe how the earth has changed during this duration of time since their making that where once water flowed now there is none. But, the other unanswered question remains.... what where their purpose? There have been some theories as perhaps they where made in some cases by shamans to indicate places of power or resources such as flint stone or symbols to convey ideas ...

Sonoran Desert Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs have been found in all parts of the globe except Antarctica with highest concentrations in parts of Africa, Scandinavia, Siberia, southwestern North America and Australia. Some petroglyph images probably had deep cultural and religious significance for the societies that created them; in many cases this significance remains for their descendants. Many petroglyphs are thought to represent some kind of not-yet-fully understood symbolic or ritual language. Other, more controversial, explanations are mostly grounded in Jungian psychology and the views of Mircea Eliade. According to these theories it is possible that the similarity of petroglyphs (and other atavistic or archetypal symbols) from different cultures and continents is a result of the genetically inherited structure of the human brain. Other theories suggest that petroglyphs were made by shamans in an altered state of consciousness, perhaps induced by the use of natural hallucinogens.
