-- I was inspired by Joe Crabtree to attempt this. To see it done properly, you absolutely MUST visit his YouTube page (pfefftube) and look at 'More Drumming' -- it is simply wonderful to watch. Alternatively, look at the 'favourites' on my Channel, and find it there. Anyway, this is all about trying to mess about with the beat, but at the same time staying in the groove. Yeah, right! It's bleeding hard, and I must have spent weeks trying to do anything worthwhile! You got to just improvise as you go along, and hope for the best. Joe's version just blew me away, and I wish I could drum like that -- it is the coolest drumming I have ever seen. There are some obvious bad moments in my attempt, but you get the general idea. I am well aware that it does not groove, that some of the fills don't pop out at the other end in time etc etc - the point is, its great fun trying! Hope you enjoy! The track is called 'Brotha' and is by Angie Stone, off her Mahogany Soul album.
