When Spc. Bryan Wagner is driving, he pushes the gas pedal with his right foot in spite of the fact that he doesn't have a right foot. "I drive with it," the 23-year-old said, referring to the prosthetic limb that replaced the real one he lost in Baghdad on Dec. 17, 2007, when the Humvee he was a gunner on ran over an improvised explosive device. But Wagner, an Exeter, Calif. native with a military buzz and the burly build of an offensive lineman, says vehicular matters aren't high on his to-do list. Neither is running a marathon, which he has somehow done, and snowboarding, which he still enjoys. What dogs him is the "phantom pain" he feels in the limb he lost, a common complaint among amputees dating back to previous wars and even showing up in literature. In David Guterson's novel "Snow Falling on Cedars", about the Japanese-American experience during and after World War II, the protagonist Ishmael Chambers complains of pain from his missing left arm. As of July 1, a total of 904 service members have undergone amputations resulting from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Therapy helps limbs "see" But a new technique called "mirror image therapy" is using the reflection of the intact limb to trick Wagner's brain-in a good way. The Shins - Phantom Limb (w/ Pam Berry intro) - San Francisco, Live, Outside Lands Festival Friday 8-12-11, 1st row in HD, at the Polo Fields at Golden Gate Park. The front row crowd was so nice that many of the band's friends actually came down to sit with us on the guard rails. First time I've ever seen that at a concert... Other Tidbits: Many of the fans around me jokingly remarked how different the band looks now compared to when they last played ~4 years ago. I believe only James Mercer and Dave Hernandez are the only original members.. The security staff was quite nice, which probably is what kept everybody in a convivial mood. For example, during intermissions, some even handed out free Kind fruit and nut bars to the front row fans, along with various chips, candy and ear plugs. And that's probably why many of the VIP guests of the performing bands felt comfortable enough to come down from the side stage to sit on the steps of the front row barricade. Usually, security doesn't even allow people to place their bags on those steps, let alone have a guest sit there. That and The Shins isn't a really band that you crowd surf to.. :P Last year, the fog blowing on stage did not need to be artificially generated, but this year it did, even though it was overcast and cold throughout the day in San Francisco. There was also a relatively strong breeze blowing towards the stage, so all the beach balls being bounced around in the crowd kept on getting blown up onto the stage <b>...</b>

That has literally got to be my favorite song. Ever. I have like this little catalogue of songs I'd consider "favorites" (like maybe ten-ish songs) because having just ONE song out of THOUSANDS is a little silly, and I definitely couldn't whittle it down to one song. It changes over time you know but god this song is amazing, despite it's simplicity James Mercer is the best I love it. It's waaaay easier than New Slang actually hah and I thought it was interesting how they ended it because on the album it just fades out. Also for a few years now (maybe a few?) I've had the chorus as my bio on xbox live =) But yeah, very easy on everything, this is our second run, the first one I was a derpderp and did the vocals on expert so I switched them to hard, but on my sightread, I also happened to fc the song on guitar! Now it kind of reversed here haha I was getting nervous I'd screw up so of course I did and my Rock Band 1 mic is beginning to bug out, as you could probably obviously tell by the ecstaticness of the arrow Pro drums made me sadface, I probably should've just made it omb because the Shins are good enough for me to do that and prodrums were broken anyway but oh well, maybe if they release ANOTHER Shins song (which I don't think they have announced atm) I'll do that. Scottish Health Innovations Limited demonstrate how to safely use Prism Glasses when performing mirror therapy. Mirror therapy is a form of treatment, based on imagery.
