Like Motorola's clamshell offering from yesteryear, the Droid Razr is an incredible feat of hardware design that should be the blueprints for future devices. But how does it tie up as a whole? One big question heading into our review was, "Does it live up to the Razr name?" The answer to that is yes, but there are a few caveats, and one of them is a big one. The Motorola Droid Razr is remarkably thin. So thin, in fact, that even after seeing it in pictures, holding it in person is a bit of a shock. Track one down to know what we mean, you'll be surprised too. The thing is, though, the device is by no means small, especially if you have smaller hands. The screen sits at 4.3-inches, but the way the phone was designed to accommodate every component makes it seems clunky. I'm not as interested in answering the question of whether cell phones cause brain cancer (the jury is still out) as I am examining our response to an initial prospective study on the topic. As consumers of news media, we need to become better informed about the kinds of evidence produced in scientific studies. So, do cell phones cause brain cancer? We don't know. It seems very unlikely, given what we know about non-ionizing radiation, but there's just not enough evidence to declare "guilty" or "not guilty". It's impossible to test the hypothesis "Do cell phones NOT cause cancer", so our best guide will be the number of papers that fail to show a strong link. Clear answers would be easier, I know, but then it wouldn't be science.

After the hubris of the Galaxy S 3 launch at Samsung's Unpacked event at Earls Court had died down, we hot-footed it to Samsung's UK HQ to get up close and personal with the stellar device in an exclusive hands on. The latest smarphone to hit the Korean manufacturer's Galactic range, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered takes its cues from nature when it comes to aesthetics, none so evident when looking at the rounded pebble-inspired chassis that houses the expansive 4.8" SuperAMOLED HD screen. Lurking under the exquisitely designed hood is a hulking the quad-core processor powering things along, meaning that watching HD video (shot at 1080p via the 8 megapixel camera) is an unfettered joy. And the impressive multimedia performance doesn't end there either, thanks to a whole host of intuitive features including S-Voice, Sammy's version of Apple's awesome Siri voice recognition software, as well as wireless file sharing from S-Beam, intuitive screen management via Smart Stay and Allshare Play which allows the streaming of digital content to other DLNA enabled devices.
