Photographer Andy Katz joins us today on the Marc Silber show to share advice on achieving great natural lighting and composition for photographs. He does not confine himself to only one type of photography—although he mainly shoots landscapes, he also enjoys working with people, especially when he's able to shoot record album cover photographs. Andy enjoys working outdoors to use the light of the sun, rather than staying in a studio with lighting equipment. He refers to the three elements present in any great photograph: content, composition and light. Any photo must have all three of these to successfully draw a viewer into the image. He loves taking photos when the sun is close to the horizon, since it produces a rich, golden light and creates gorgeous shadows. He is adamant about shooting photos only when the light is ideal and will often wait until the sun hits the right angle for that perfect shot. As a seasoned photographer, Andy understands how crucial it is to have reliable equipment with him at all times. When working with natural light, he needs to capture as many photographs as he can in a limited amount of time. On September 11, 2001, Abbas was in Siberia when he saw TV reports of the Twin Towers in New York collapsing. Ils comptent parmi les plus grands noms de la photographie du XXe siècle. Dans les années trente, leurs images incarnent ce que le surréalisme a de plus intense, de plus vivant. Ce documentaire de 26 minutes réalisé par Stan Neumann propose de nous faire découvrir de manière originale et ludique les « secrets de fabrication » de la photographie surréaliste. Des techniques d'animation permettent au film d'interroger les photographies elles-mêmes. Elles sont démontées, remontées, remises en jeu. En « réveillant » ainsi les images fixes, le film montre les choix, les hasards et d'où elles tirent leur force. Chaque photographie montrée dans le film redevient une histoire, comme un petit drame photographique dont l'image définitive n'est que le dernier acte. Le spectateur peut ainsi découvrir de l'intérieur « comment on fait », le travail du cadre et de la lumière, les procédés de surimpression, de solarisation, de photomontage, et devenir lui-même acteur de cette partie complexe qui se joue entre la photographie, l'imaginaire et le réel.

Ceci est le 1er épisode de "Studio de Rue", où j'amène de l'éclairage de qualité studio dans la rue afin de relever la photographie avec de la belle lumière. Mon objectif était de photographier 10 portraits en une heure - résultat dépassé: 15 portraits! Eclairage avec flash cobra avec une boîte à lumière, une porte d'étable et un snoot. Un immense merci aux talentueux photographes qui m'ont accompagné pour cette émission: Marc P, Marc B, Jan-Uwe R, Jesus, Renaud G et qui ont par la même occasion filmé cette séquence. Et merci évidemment à toutes les personnes - 15 en tout - qui m'ont permis de les photographier pendant cette heure. Sfera is an app on iPhone that can make real 360° photos. I'm not a pro but I've tried many 360° photo apps and that one is way the better I've seen, seriously. Dans ce second cours du 1er volume, filmé en Avril 2011, je vous explique comment changer un objectif d'appareil photo sans avoir à poser tout son matériel au sol! Je vais vous avouer une chose: je n'aime pas changer d'objectif photo. C'est une des raisons pour lesquelles quand je travaille j'utilise toujours deux boitiers. Mais malgré cela, je change quand meme des dizaines de fois par jour l'objectif et j'ai donc essayé de trouver la façon la plus facile de le faire, tout en évitant de faire entrer de la poussière sur le capteur. Je vous conseille quand meme de vous entrainer au dessus de votre lit afin de ne pas casser les objectifs qui pourraient glisser de vos mains (ca ne m'est jamais arrivé, mais on doit pas etre fier!) Enfin - évitez de changer d'objectifs dans des endroits à fort risque de poussière: tempete de sable, vent et plage, chez le coiffeur (les cheveux!) PS: Dans cette video je me trompe à un moment entre l'index et l'auriculaire. Heureusement les images parlent d'elles-même!
