Star Wars: Retold

My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top. Winner of the George Lucas award at the 2009 Star Wars Fan Film Contest. Stay tuned for an HD version landing soon. 1080i vs 1080p Frames, Fields, and Images Per Second

www.lockergnome.com 1080i vs 1080p is not quite as simple as Frames vs Fields. Pixels per second wise 1080i has as many pixels as 1080p 30, but only half as many as 1080p 60. And don't even get me started about "drop frame" which makes 30 =29.97 and 24=23.976

UltraSlo saw speed demo FIXED

This is the same clip fixed to run smoothly and labeled right. Sorry for the error. In this clip we have used the same set up and shot at 4 different speeds. We are using a chop saw this time to get the saw plunging into the wood. The speeds are 9000 FPS, 15000 FPS, 39000 FPS and 63000 FPS. The faster the frame rate we shoot the smaller the frame (lower resolution) The camera shoots at a maximum number of pixels per second. So a big frame pf say 800 x 600 will run @ 1200 FPS and @ 63000 FPS the frame size is 80 x 48 pixels. If i left each in its natural state you would see that each frame every thing is the same size just the frame size reducing. All of these images are zoomed so see them better but it also makes the image a little soft.

Please RATE and COMMENT In this clip we have used the same set up and shot at 4 different camera speeds. To better show what is going on we left each clip in it's natural size so you could better see what we do. So a big frame pf say 800 x 600 will run @ 1200 FPS and @ 120000 FPS the frame size is 32 x 8 pixels. Each camera has different performance. This was shot with a Miro 4 from vision Research they start around 25K. Enjoy

A screen recording of the results of changing settings for an instance of my Alex4D Closing Credits plug-in for Final Cut Pro 6 and 7. Choose four type styles. Two for centred text, one for text that's aligned to the right - which usually defines roles in productions - and a style for text that's aligned to the left - which names the actor or person involved. For each style you can instantly change font, size and colour while clients watch. You can also control scrolling speed in pixels per second as well as keyframable speed changes. Bridge, 2003

"Bridge" is an algorithmic film about architecture. The film is based on a collage of still-images of buildings in Japan. These tall structures are scanned vertically and are only see trough a small horizontal gap in the screen. The rest of the screen is filled with two single lines - the top and bottom of the gap repeated. As the gap moves through the image, these lines perform a slow and soft abstract animation. The scanning of the original image is the only movement in the film. The film is a more than 2 minutes long tilt. The proprietary software moves the image one pixel per frame / 25 pixels per second. Thus the duration is controlled by the height of the original image.

Final Green Holo Screen (thanks again Nikita)

This time, green only. Represents distance a bit better, though still hard to tell small differences. Managed to optimize it a bit. Now it no longer has to recalculate the XYZ positions of a holo point each time it's used. It just calculates them all at once at the start, and stores coords in memory. Then when a point has to represent a certain pixel, it just fetches the xyz coords for that pixel. This means there's a 1 second delay when the screen is first turned on, but overall speed is quite nice. You should know that making things look good is NOT my strong point. The TV is now inside a box, like you asked. The camera is a separate unit, and is meant to be changed for a data plug/port connecting it to another hi-speed device. Said device must store 1 byte per pixel, with a grayscale value from 0 to 255, which will be represented as various shades of green (like the old apple screens). Overall resolution is 32x32. Actual speed depends on number of pixels being used. If a pixel is black (0), it is simply not drawn (screen background is also black). My screen can do about 500 pixels per second. So this means if your picture only uses 100-200 pixels (lots of black space), it will get draw faster. Of course, since its triply interlaced, it seems to go much faster than it actually does.

Beis Hamikdash Walk-through

Walk through the Beis Hamikdash! In this walkthrough, you can see the eastern gate, up through the Ezras Nashim, and finally take a short walk on the Soveiv of the Mizbeach. This walk around the Soveiv was done for sprinkling the blood of all Korbanos which needed to be sprinkled above the half-way point of the Mizbeach (which is marked by the extremely thin red line called the Chut Hasikra which kind of flickers in and out in this low-resolution video). Just a warning, though, this model Beis Hamikdash is in a very early stage. That's why all the colours are, well, ugly. Having single solid colours makes it faster for me to render when testing it out, and the bright different colours make it easier for me to see what I'm working on. The truth is, I tried making nice textures for it, just for demonstration purposes, but I discovered that that requires artistic skills, something which I seriously lack. If you want to see the type of realism which theoretically can be achieved with POV-Ray, the 3-D rendering system I use, look at hof.povray.org. Another result of this model being in a very early stage is that many details are lacking, or simply wrong. For example, the Kiyor is simply not there. There are supposed to be a whole variety of things on the north side of the Mizbeach (on the right when you walk in), such as rings to hold down the animals being slaughtered, and table and hooks to skin them on, but currently there are just colourful rectangles which mark the areas ...

Amazing Comcast 10 Million Pixel Video Screen Wall

on june 8th the brand new comcast center opened in philadelphia and immediately became the tallest building in the city. now, whilst the building itself is a beauty, the thing that made me dribble slightly and the thing that no-one seems to have picked up on yet is the phenomenal video wall in the skyscraper's lobby, built by barco. first of all take a look at the pictures, watch the videos, wipe your mouth and then prepare for some facts.
