Noah attends the specialist play schemes at the Woodside Centre in Bristol every week. He is profoundly deaf and has some problems with his sight. Noah uses simple signs to communicate and has has challenges understanding the world around him. Noah appears in this film with his his Mum Nicola, Karen his music therapist and Helen Potter representing Sense, the leading UK deafblind charity.

This is a fantastic wee short film made by a community playscheme project one summer in the mid 70's in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. I've had to split it into three parts because of the length. Loosely based around the Oor Wullie cartoon character, The film captures not only the young local characters of the day but also views of the streets including Niddrie, Craigmillar, Greendykes, Bingham and Portobello Beach. The animation sequence was reminiscent of some Monty Python stuff and II think its brilliant. Filled with Space Hoppers, flared troosers, long hair & stairs with no doors this is truly a film of the 70s. If you were a kid in Niddrie and Craigmillar in the 70s maybe you recognise some of the stars of this film or maybe even yourself. And no, I dont know what its about but I still love it. Many thanks to Heather Henderson for letting me have a copy this film.

Maypole Centre complete another year at Woodlands Camp at Aldridge as part of the Summer Playscheme, taking a total of 35 young people aged 9-13 and then 10 young people aged 16. Whilst at camp the young people had the chance to take part in water activities like kayaking and raft building, high ropes, climbing and abseiling, a bonfire, disco, and an assault course.
