This updo is not supposed to look perfect, it should look a little undone and roughly textured. So don't worry too much about strays - though, you'll probably want to keep a few spare grips in your purse! Great for medium length to long hair, and perfect for an everyday school look, as well as a more formal wedding hair style. Works best on wavy, large curls or straight (blow dried) hair - that's been washed the previous day so it has a little hold. You could add in some hair accessories for a more polished occasion look, like a few flowers or a diamante clip. I love how the style is both Scandinavian and victorian inspired - quirky and yet chic. PS. I love the weird faces I make when opening the grips... :)

The key to this bun updo is in making a deep part on one side of your head. Place it a little farther over than you would naturally wear it. To prevent the hair from slicking down to the head, tease up the hair on the crown. Pull up sections and tease the backside to get more volume on the top. Step 2: Make Ponytail Use a brush to smooth out the teased sections and pull all the hair to the side where the bun will be. Make sure all the hair is smooth.
