1986) The pop/rock group Cutting Crew formed in England in 1985, just one year before "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" made them stars at home and across the Atlantic. Founding members Kevin Scott MacMichael (guitar) and Nick Van Eede (vocals) met in Halifax, Nova Scotia, while both musicians were on tour with their respective bands. A musical connection was made, and MacMichael soon left his native Australia and relocated to England, where he and Van Eede immediately began to collaborate. After signing with Siren Records on the strength of their demos, Cutting Crew became a foursome in 1986 with the addition of bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle; they entered the recording studio that same year. "New Sensation" is a song by Australian pop/rock group INXS. It was the third single from their 1987 album Kick. The music was written by Andrew Farriss and the lyrics by Michael Hutchence. The song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, #9 in Australia, #25 in the UK, and #8 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks in the US. The song features a signature Kirk Pengilly sax solo and lyrics about a partying lifestyle. The first line "Live, baby, live", was later referenced in the title of the bands's 1991 release Live Baby Live. Tommy James (born Thomas Gregory Jackson, 29 April 1947, Dayton, Ohio) is an American pop-rock musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known as leader of the 1960s rock band Tommy James and the Shondell In 1958, when Tom was eleven, his family moved to Niles, Michigan. That year he formed his first unofficial band "The Echoes" with four of his friends from school. In 1959, at the age of twelve, James formed what would be recognized as his first official band "Tom and the Tornadoes". A year later the band changed its name to The Shondells. By 1964, a local DJ at WNIL radio station in Niles formed his own record label, Snap Records. The Shondells were one of the local bands the DJ recorded at WNIL studios. One of the songs was the Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich ditty "Hanky Panky", which they recorded as The Raindrops. The song was a hit locally, but the label had no resources for national promotion and it was soon forgotten. In 1965, a DJ in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, found a copy of "Hanky Panky" and played it as a station "exclusive". Listener response was positive, with many wanting to know where they could get a copy of the "new" single. Another DJ started playing the song at local dance parties. Britain's answer to Elvis Presley, Richard (born Harry Webb) dominated the pre-Beatles British pop scene in the late '50s and early '60s. An accomplished singer with a genuine feel for the music, Richard's artistic legacy is nonetheless meager, as he was quickly steered toward a middle-of-the-road pop direction. Several of his late-'50s recordings, however, were genuinely exciting Presley-esque rockers -- especially his first hit, "Move It" (1958) -- and gave British teenagers their first taste of genuine homegrown rock & roll talent. Backed by the Shadows -- clean-cut instrumental virtuosos who became legends of their own -- Richard embarked on a truly awesome string of hit singles in Britain, scoring no less than 43 Top 20 hits between 1958 and 1969. One of these, although it was by no means one of the more successful, was an actual Mick Jagger/Keith Richards composition (the ballad "Blue Turns to Grey"). In his homeland, Richard's popularity was diminished only slightly by the rise of the Beatles, but in his prime, he had a much rougher time in the US, hitting the Top 40 only three times (with "Living Doll" in 1959, "It's All in the Game" in 1963, and "Devil Woman" in 1976). Better version of my video! This song is from the year 1988 off of Dave's third solo album "Skyscraper". This album has a little more art feel and technicolor too it than David's previous solo album "Eat 'Em and Smile!" which gave a really glam, hair metal feel too it. This album is a very underrated album and needs a lot more recondition. It only has about 3 or 4 reviews on iTunes so if you buy from iTunes then take the time to write a quick review.
