Daffy Duck and Porky Pig - Fool Coverage (Fixed Video Lag)
Porky answers the door to Daffy, a pushy insurance salesman, who tries to convince Porky to sign up for a $1 million insurance policy because of getting a simple black eye (although there are some fine print to it). Although Porky is temporarily tempted, he calmly escorts Daffy to the door. However, Daffy is not about to give up - he follows Porky around the house, stopping him from doing potentially dangerous things and warning him off. For example, when Porky forgets a screwdriver in his oven, he lights a match and looks inside, pulling the screwdriver out. Daffy runs in, telling Porky about the dangers of using a match in an oven. Instead, he should have used a flashlight, as Daffy demonstrates - just as the oven explodes in his face. Still trying to convince Porky of the dangers around the house, Daffy stuffs a closet full of junk, and proceeds to ask Porky for some items (such as a golf club), with Porky each time saying he doesn't have it. By the end, Daffy is desperate and asks if Porky has a yo-yo. Porky confirms he has one, and tells Daffy it's in the back of the closet. Daffy runs to the closet and opens the door, causing all the junk to fall on HIM - although he comes out of it, glumly playing with the yo-yo. In the end, Porky is convinced that Daffy is right - the home is full of hazards (having seen all the accidents befallen Daffy), and he signs up for Daffy's policy, convinced all he has to do is get a black eye, and he'll get $1 million. Daffy, however <b>...</b>

However, all I've ever seemed to be able to find is the hand-retraced/colorized version. It WAS shown on the Bob Clampett Show, but it was the computer colorized version from 1992. I've never seen the original, untouched black & white version of this cartoon anywhere else. I decided to upload it here because it is definitely worth seeing in its original b&w form. It doesn't seem to be cleaned up or restored in any way. There are at least one or two drop outs, most noticeably at the title card fade-in. The zooming WB shield and ending sequence seem to be from a different source. Other than those things, the quality of the transfer is great. SHAME ON YOU WB FOR NOT RELEASING PORKY'S BEST CARTOON ON VIDEO AND DVD!!!!!! U SUCK! UR GRANDMOTHER WEARS ARMY BOOTS!!! Ok, now that my rant is semi-over, I had to DIG and DIG old videos to find this, after I WANTED TO BUY A REMASTERED VERSION OF THIS and DID NOT find it!!! Anywhere and everywhere I looked there is NO DVD or VIDEO version of this cartoon, and WB didn't include it in ANY of the Amazon Porky DVDs!??? What the hell!? So as a favor to humanity, this is the BEST quality ANYONE can deliver for free, out of a dusty, damp basement; to the world. It took me one day to be able to record from VHS because the Mac 8500 kept malfunctioning, it's a 1995 computer after all, but the quality really didn't suffer much, except for a few frames that show some large pixels. Again this couldn't be helped as I remember I kept adjusting the antenna when I originally recorded it from television in 1991. This video plays at 20 frames per second. Gladly the Mac has a CD burner that can burn CDs that CAN BE READ IN MY WIN7 laptop Yay! One of the best features of the Mac. Originally recorded on 1939 in B&W, but according to IMDB this cartoon wasn't colorized until 1990! However some of these cartoons were colorized in 1968 (thanks to user Badbooking for the tip). I wish there was a source with that information but I can't find anything. The B/W version of this is public domain from Merrie Melodies, and I'm quite sure may not last here as soon as WB realize that they can actually make <b>...</b>

1937 Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Frank Tashlin. Tons of great celebrities from the 30's in this one(Naturally Boris Karloff is depicted as Frankenstein's Monster). The most baffling being Clark Gable trying to hitch hike on a race track...a semi throwback to "It Happened One Night". I believe this was also Mel Blanc's first time doing the voice of Porky. This version also features the black man in the "Knee Action Special" cart; a scene that is always cut from television airings.

Broadcast on TVS ITV in December 1982, here is a Warner Brothers Looney Tunes cartoon, "It's an ill wind" featuring Porky Pig. This copy has a 1950s style opening and I would imagine is a colorised version of a cartoon that was first produced in black and white.
