5 Min Portrait - Children Photography Tutorial

froknowsphoto.com I know this is not exactly like the other 5 min portraits but I felt it was worthy of the title 5 Min Portrait. I went over to my friend Bill and Casey's house to see their 10 week old newborn Billy. I did shoot video of the entire thing but felt that it was not strong enough to cut together this time around. You will hear me explain the situaiton in the video below how Billy fell asleep right when we started which made it pretty hard to get interesting pictures. Following getting some ok pictures I sat down with Bill to discuss what we learned form the session and how it did not go exactly as we had hoped. You will see that at the very end of the video.

Maternity Portraits at 34 Weeks Pregnant!

These are our maternity portraits that were taken while I was 34 weeks pregnant. My mom took the pictures with my camera in our backyard in front of sheet. They came out pretty good for being so economical, lol! Then I put together the collages on my computer =) The song was written, composed, and performed by Gabe's brother, Li, and our family friend, Cess. It's called "Lilia's Smiling" and was made specially for her =) The first verse is from my point of view (the mommy), the second is from Gabe's point of view (the daddy), and the third is from Lilia's point of view (the baby). Here are the lyrics: I can hear your heart beat In rhythm with mine, you're speaking to me Telling me you love me and that you're mine I can almost hold you, it's just a matter of time Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me I can see you lying there I can't believe this is real You are so clear, down to your fingertips You look my way and blow me a kiss Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me I can feel, feel you move I'm reaching out, can you feel me too? I close my eyes, whisper a prayer You touch my hand to let me know you're there Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me Lilia's smiling Lilia's smiling, smiling at me

ORIGINAL Elephant Painting

Watch this elephant paint a beautiful image of an elephant holding a flower. You'll be amazed at how her talent unfolds as she carefully completes each stroke. Her mahout talks to her throughout the process as his gentle touch gives her confidence. She focuses on her work and seems to enjoy the approval of the audience and, of course, the sugar cane and banana treats. All of her training has been reward based. So touched by their horrific backgrounds and loving personalities, ExoticWorldGifts.com now supports, "Starving Elephant Artisans" by selling their paintings so they can continue to have a new life in Thailand. Own a print of the art for $15. Some Thai elephant experts believe that the survival of the Asian elephant species will most likely depend on the good treatment of the elephants in well managed privately owned elephant camps. All of us would prefer that all of the elephants be free to be in the wild. For many reasons, that is not possible at this time. You can learn more and purchase these unique paintings at www.ExoticWorldGifts.com

How to paint your pets portrait

This is a tutorial on how to paint your own pet portrait without having a background in art. I myself do pet portraits but went to the Slade School of Fine Art in London England, however I learned some tricks along the way for those who have no clue about drawing or art. Hope you enjoy creating your very own painting of your pet! Here are the colors I used: Titanium White French Ultramarine Blue Burnt Sienna (a brown) Burnt Umber (a dark brown) Alizeran Crimson (a red) Cadmium Yellow Cadmium Orange Other colors that are a good beginners palate: Cadmium Red Yellow Ochre Mars Black (however you can mix black from the primary colors, or create a nice off black by mixing burnt sienna and ultramarine blue) My tip is to never use real black in your painting except in tiny quantities. If you find that the graphite has dirtied your picture, simply wash it off with soap and water. If you let the painting dry between layers, or if you blow dry your painting between layers, you will be able to erase any mistakes you make on the top layer with a little warm water and a sponge. Tip: Change your water constantly so that it is clear. If you mix colors with muddy water you will get a muddy painting Tip: For fine lines and edges make sure to add a little water for a smoother easier to paint line. Tip: Dole out the money for the smallest brush sizes, as buying a cheap small sized brush will just cause you heart ache and frustration. This same method can be used for painting any animal or ...

Erin Manning's Top 5 Posing and Directing Photography Tips

Erin Manning's Top 5 Posing and Directing Photo Tips Some people are really uncomfortable in front of the camera—they aren't sure what they're supposed to do, and they're afraid they'll look bad. This can result in stiff, unnatural looking photographs. It's your job as the photographer to help your subjects feel comfortable and relax. You can do this by talking, interacting, giving them direction and encouragement. When you are photographing people, you are in a relationship, whether it lasts for a few minutes, a few hours, or a lifetime. Following are five tips that can help you direct your subject and capture natural-looking portraits. Tip 1 Have your subjects make a three-quarter turn to camera and shift their weight to the back leg. This position gives the body shape, dimension and makes them look slimmer. Tip 2 Create a sense of movement in your photograph. Direct your subjects to shift their weight back and forth from one foot to the other. Tip 3 Most people are uncomfortable in front of the camera. Help them out by giving them direction. Tell them they look great, give them feedback and interact. The positive energy will show in your photographs. Tip 4 A real expression is always better than a fake one. To alleviate a frozen, unnatural smile, try my Pufferfish technique for relaxing your subjects face. Do it together! Puff out your cheeks, hold, then blow it out. This exercise relaxes your face, and the goofy look is enough to make anyone laugh. Tip 5 Portraits are ...

Anne Frank: Her Life in Colour

A montage of photographs taken of Anne Frank and her family and coloured by myself using Paint Shop Pro XI Many of these pictures were coloured a few years and months apart from each other, which explains the variation in quality. The more I have coloured, the more I have improved but as you can probably tell, portrait photographs are easier to colour than ones with lots of background objects and less detail. The last photograph of Anne is my particular favourite and I think my best to date. Music: Roberto Cacciapaglia - Outdoor
