Myself and a team of misfits took to the malls of Green Hills and Cool Springs in Nashville, TN in order to film the latest edition of "Dancing With An iPod in Public". After a quick 3 hour hit-and-run style shoot through these shopping centers on November 27th, 2011, this is the result of our efforts! A pretty spectacular morning here at Preston, with two specials running through pretty much one after the other with proper British Traction at the helm for both services. First on the scene was British Railways Black 5 45305 which had arrived light from Carnforth earlier that morning to await the arrival of its train. Steaming pleasantly in Platform 7, I took the opportunity to take more detailed shots of the mighty engine, and in order to show to views why these brilliant machines were regarded as some of the greatest pieces of rolling stock on the British Rail network. Moving over to Platform 3 and the late running 9:09 West Highland Way tour to Fort William was due to arrive, the service coming from Birmingham International had been severely delayed due to a broken down Class 350 Desiro unit south of Crewe. Before the service arrived, a duo of Freightliner Class 66's, numbers 66957 and 66558 (Dead-In-Tow) providing the power for a rake of Northbound Coal Empties. At just gone 10:15, West Coast Railways Class 37's, numbers 37676 'Loch Rannoch' and 37685 arrived with their delayed rake of coaches for the overnight excursion. In the usual splendour and glory the 37's had been praised for, the pair left in roaring fashion complete with horns and smoke. Resplendent in it's recently repainted BR Electric Blue, 86259 'Les Ross' took me by surprise as it arrived 20 minutes early despite the derailment of 90046 and emergency maintenance work that followed. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweet shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shop owner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.

I wanted to give it the ole "pleatherman cover" treatment by making it my own. As I was in the studio one day, I was playing the bass line to "Express Yourself" by Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band on the piano, and then magically, the melody of "Call Me Maybe" floated into my head....and it somehow fit perfectly! So thus, I decided to do a mashup. This video turned into a much larger editing project than I had envisioned but I like how it turned out.
