P1: there is something about reality that seemingly cannot be explained (the forces of the universe, the constancy of realty, the laws of logic, etc) P2: having an answer is "more rational" then saying you don't know. P3: "God done did it" is a philosophical panacea C: belief in god is more rational then non-belief. First, as atheism has no content beyond not believing in a god, it is not at all in accurate to say that a belief system, with GOD (a being that can nicely fill virtually any philosophical or explanatory gap you need him to) at is core will certainly have more explanatory scope. Even if someone that was an atheist had explanations for the subjects of these arguments, they would not be a part of atheism. You can be an atheist for the best or reasons or the worst. The problem with all of these arguments is that they are playing god of the philosophical gaps. Having an explanation for something does not automatically grant you the status of being more rational then someone with no explanation. There are many times when having no answer IS the most rational position to hold. That is why I am an AGNOSTIC atheist. Beyond just the existence of a god or gods, there are many things about reality I don't claim to necessarily have an answer for. No one should ever feel ashamed to admit as much. Atheism is not about having answers. It is up to us to do the philosophical leg work on our own and not rely on a belief system to tell us what we belief and think about reality <b>...</b>

In a nut shell (if this is a bit heavy or tangly on the brain), we all have presuppositions. We need to (in life) determine correct and incorrect presuppositions. "Presuppositionalism" is not the same thing as recognizing that we have presuppositions. Presuppositionalism is the transcendental method of assigning God as our ultimate un-verifiable authority. He inspired scripture, and therefore the word of God judges us, and not that we weak and stupid humans judge God's word. For the apologist, he needs to challenge at the presuppositional level. He should, in defense of his own view and in opposition to all else, use Everything possible, as all things (in some way) vindicate our Ultimate authority, which is scripture. Yes, we do reason (logic, etc) and we do have senses which allow a more full experience of life. But, raw sensation can provide nothing. Think of a person who is comatose, having sensation but no interpretation of such. The lights are on, but no one is home. Mere raw reception goes nowhere. Likewise, blank and empty reasoning processes offer nothing. We must get down to specifics!! God has given us organs which sense and a mind which reasons. Logic and sensory intake value are only tools to get to and defend our Ultimate Authority. And, as we find, ONLY the God who is, and is not silent (scripture given), provides us with a basis for laying claim to the trustworthiness of the use of those tools in the first place, and further, for the interpretation of all <b>...</b>
