New locomotives by Progress Rail based on Caterpillar diesel and modified SD40-2 body are being tested on the Union Pacific in Southern California. I spotted 3 of them in one day at West Colton Yard, along with plenty of railroad acitivity.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) subsidiary Progress Rail has signed an official agreement Tuesday morning to purchase Electro-Motive Diesel from Berkshire Partners LLC and Greenbriar Equity Group LLC for $820 million in cash. "This acquisition represents the latest step in our strategic plan to aggressively grow our presence in the global rail industry," said Caterpillar vice chairman and CEO-elect Doug Oberhelman. "Including today's announcement and our acquisition of Progress Rail, Caterpillar has invested about $2 billion since 2006 to grow our profitable rail and transit businesses. Rail has proven to be a highly efficient and sustainable method for moving freight and people, and we see a positive long-term future for the continued growth of the rail industry." John S. Hamilton, president of Electro-Motive Diesel, also commented on the agreement, saying, "We feel this is an ideal fit for EMD and our customers and we look forward to developing and providing an even greater portfolio of products and services for the rail and transit industry that we have proudly served for more than 85 years." The deal is set to close by the end of this year following regulatory approvals. Shares of Caterpillar are trading down 0.77% at $60.17.

The spirit of progress train service first started in 1937. It used to be hauled by a steam locomotive in its day, but these were scrapped years ago. The Spirit Of Progress train is hauled by an B and S class locomotives as seen here today(if i am wrong please reply thanks) these were from the 50's repainted in the original Vic rail colours from the day. It is seen thundering past me viewed from a railway bridge. Hope you enjoy, sorry about my annoying commentary as the train was coming, and the camera shake as i was holding it by hand.

Nothing can stop PROGRESS TRAIN! This video has Kikoskia in mind due to an encounter he is having trouble with.. I might be better equipped but you must remember that if you are playing this game you DO have spells that'll help you get through fiery death (and destruction!).. from fire resistance (resist being damage reduction and protection being like stoneskin) spells to Lesser Globe of Invulnerability (which I do not have, and don't know if it works, but should since Fireball is a Lv3 spell), you have spells which will make any fight sweet as cake - unless you're lagging all to hell like I am! Summary? Well.. you can never stop Progress Train can you?
