Here in Aotearoa/ New Zealand the official language is Maori. Maori people are the natives of this country. There are still alot of main stream teachers that refuse to pronounce it correctly, let alone teach it. Titin is the largest protein yet discovered. It's full chemical name is 189819 letters long and, depending on how you define a "word" is the longest word in the English language. Here is a sample read aloud. It is not, as I had intended it, the full word. This is because when I converted the text to speech, it was 2 hours 8 minutes even when I quadrupled the speed. So I have cut out the 2 hours to give you an idea of what it would sound like. Similarly, the text of the screen isn't the full text, because that became a 1 hour and 38 minute video and only the most stoned of geeks could watch it in full. I perfromed this in Boston back in 1999. I was 12 years old and this was my first performance in front of a large audience (about 400 people) I know the pronounciation is a bit off. This was my first time singing in Farsi and I do not speak the language really. Only the basic phrases. As I got older, my pronounciation improved.
