NYPD Cop Punches Protester at Occupy Wall Street, 10/14/11

Journalist and Reason contributor Michael Tracey is covering New York's Occupy Wall Street as it's happening. Above is footage he shot as the protesters marched through the street of Manhattan and had various stand-offs with the New York Police Department. Tracey himself reports being punched in the shoulder while filming. In the above video, around the 1.40 mark, a white-shirted NYPD officer decks a protester in a green shirt (how the incident started is unclear). Reason.tv's Meredith Bragg edited the video above from about 20 minutes of footage. Chris Matthews Unloads On Protester Who Carried Gun To Obama Event

"You're carrying a god damned gun at a Presidential event," Matthews says to protester William Kostric, appearing on "Hardball" to explain why he carried a gun to a health care town hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire hosted by President Obama. He said he wanted "to be heard" and wanted everyone to be aware of the rights we are losing. Matthews chides Kostric for bringing a loaded gun to an event where the President would be. "A firearm is a defensive tool," Kostric says. "Who would be silly enough to carry an unarmed firearm?" It is legal to carry guns in New Hampshire. He concludes that it would have been a safer crowd if everyone at the town hall carried guns. Also, he said Obama is "a great speaker" and that he voted for Ron Paul.

Time Magazine names protesters 'Person of the Year'

From the Arab Spring to the Occupy Wall Street movement, "The Protester" has been named Time Magazine's 2011 "Person of the Year". The annual distinction is given to the person or thing that Time believes has most influenced culture and the news during the past year, for good or for ill. Time says the outcry for democratic politics became globalised this year and protesters made history. Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports from Washington DC.

Occupy Oakland Video: Protester shot with rubber bullet for filming cops

Video courtesy: www.youtube.com The video of an Occupy Oakland protester shot by police has been made available, showing perhaps the most outrageous act of overzealous law enforcement action in the weeks since the movement began. An unnamed protester rallying in Oakland, California last week during the city's General Strike managed to be rolling film as he approached a gauntlet of riot gear-clad police officers lined across a city street. Filming their motionless blockage of the road, the videographer asks the cops, "Is this okay?" several times as he paces from one side of the road to the other, camera in hand. The narrator of the footage appears peaceful and calm as he walks around 20 feet away from the police during the course of the 40 second clip in which he at no point attempts to provoke the officers. The footage is cut short, however, after a burst of light is seen exploding from the array of law enforcement followed immediately by the cameraman falling to the ground. The exact projectile fired by the cops has not been identified, though the man was believed to be hit by either a beanbag or a non-lethal rubber bullet round. Bilderberg Members Confronted by Protesters Outside Security Perimeter

www.infowars.com Video credit Stefan Hans Bauer Astounding footage has emerged of top Bilderberg members being confronted by protesters as they walked on foot down the mountain road towards the Suvretta Hotel. Bilderberg attendees rarely ever venture outside of hotel grounds which is why this represents such a shocking development. Bilderbergers seen in the video clip include Peter Mandelson, Google founder Eric Schmidt, Peer Steinbrück, Franco Bernabe, Jacob Wallenberg, and Thomas Enders. In one of the scenes, a protester explains how he had a conversation with a Bilderberg member who arrogantly told him that Bilderberg were busy "setting their agenda" and that demonstrators shouldn't bother them. Bilderberger Thomas Enders tells one protester, "don't worry about it," when he complains about Bilderberg's undemocratic foundation.

Occupy Wall Street NYPD runs over a protester with motorcycle

[MIRRORED] - (Take it and mirror it, make it spread) Original description: The Scooter policeman stops when he hooks his victim's foot , then continues to apparently drive over it or around it and finish off the job with the back wheel. You can clearly see the officer's conscious will to acknowledge his trapped victim and getting off to fend off the rest who may try to help him. Notice these steel engines' mass is extremely heavy for a middle aged man's ankle's bones. then another officer notices the scooter and pushes it down (thankfully), yet another manages to instead of help the suffering him, finish him off by beating him with a club. Another comes in and tackle-pressed him down on the ground on his chest finishing the arresting process. Note - Not all cops are bad, this video does not entail such a thing, in fact most are very nice, but sadly there's the exceptions and these exceptions tend to be VERY dangerous for the people. Wall Street protesters have little faith in US democracy

Discontent with the state of the US economy has drawn many protesters out to demonstrations in major cities in the United States. The "Occupy Wall Street" movement that started in New York on September 17 has spread to over 90 other US cities. As the 24-hour encampment continued in New York City on Friday, there were demonstrations around the country, including in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; Austin and Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Washington DC. Some Republican politicians are criticising the movement. Republican House Majority leader Eric Cantor called the protesters "growing mobs". But the protesters are not focused on the US' traditional political system. "We need to dictate the policy up, not policy being dictated down," Jesse LaGreca, a protester on Wall Street, told Al Jazeera. "We will be the leaders, and if there's any politicianss who wanna support us in passing policies that we support, then that's the best we to about gaining our support." Katie Davison, another Wall Street protester, agreed. "A candidate is sort of the old way of doing things," she told Al Jazeera. "We're looking for a new way of doing things that is more participatory and more meaningful. What that looks like we're still figuring out." Anthropoligist, writer and protest organiser David Graeber, told Al Jazeera why he thinks young people in the US have reached an especially frustrating point. In making a demand, you're essentially recognising the authority of the people ...

Overblown Drone: 'UFO' Over Protesters in Moscow, Russia - Dec. 2011

An excerpt from RussiaToday: "A UFO spying on Muscovites protesting against parliamentary election fraud? Apparently so -- at least that was the best explanation some British news outlets could give to the latest technical solutions in use among Russian bloggers. "An 'unidentified flying object'...spotted above Moscow during an anti-government protest." "Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters...witnessed the 'UFO' hover above them on Saturday." "Confused onlookers among the 25000-strong crowd filmed the strange object on their phones." "Onlookers...climbed trees to grab a closer look at the mysterious craft." And so on, and so forth. Well, being among those tens of thousands of "confused onlookers", the only kind of debate I can recall in regards to the "object" was whether it was the police monitoring the security situation on the scene of mass protests through a drone camera or journalists taking aerial photos for their reports (or broadcasts)." rt.com The silly article by Daily Mail UK: "Russian protesters distracted during Moscow demo against Putin... by 'UFO' flying over Kremlin." www.dailymail.co.uk telegraph.co.uk ************************************************************************ Russia just totally PWNed you, UK - what are you going to do about it?

Keith Olbermann Reads The Statement Released By The Wall Street Protesters - 2011-10-05

Keith Olbermann Reads The Statement Released By The Wall Street Protesters - 2011-10-05 Transcript: nycga.cc The Official Declaration of the Occupation of Wall Street read by Keith Olbermann 10-05 2011 As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies. As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage. They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses. They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the ...

On November 4, OccupyDC demonstrators had gathered to protest the Defending the American Dream summit at the Washington Convention Center. Occupy DC marched from McPherson Square to the convention center Friday evening - when a driver plowed into the crowd of protesters, injuring two. Police officers had let the driver go.
