SOAS Professor: 'Global warming is a myth'

Philip Stott is Britain's leading climate-change denier and Professor of Biogeography at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He has built a career on slating environmentalists and displays an extreme antipathy towards those with concerns about genetic engineering, portraying them as left-wing extremists. In May 2001, the American Embassy and SOAS jointly hosted a Conference that advanced the interests of Genetically Modified crop manufacturers. Stott chaired the conference, and not a single representative from any environmental organisation spoke at the event. The environment correspondent of The Guardian has described Prof. Stott as 'an alarming academic' who pushes George W. Bush's agenda. The Director of the Environmental Research Foundation has said of Stott: 'It is evident that Professor Stott has abandoned his role as a serious scholar and has become a cheerleader for the biotech industry.' In this videoed speech to a largely American audience, Stott presents his case against climate change, styling himself as an expert on the issue, despite his never having had a single paper published in a scientific journal in the fields in which he most frequently applies this 'expertise', eg climate change or tropical ecology.

Christopher Hitchens vs Rabbi Wolpe - Public Debate on God Nov.2008

Christopher Hitchens vs Rabbi Wolpe - Public Debate on God Nov.2008 More than 1500 people went to Temple Emanu-El, one of the largest synagogues in the world, on Wednesday evening for a wide-ranging debate on that age-old question. On one side: Christopher Hitchens, the writer, wit and author of the polemic God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything, published last year by Twelve/Warner Books. On the other side: Rabbi David J. Wolpe of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, whom Newsweek has called the No. 1 rabbi in America and the author of Why Faith Matters, published last month by HarperOne. Mr. Hitchens took part in a similar debate Is God Great? with the Rev. Al Sharpton in May 2007 at the New York Public Library. The debate with Rabbi Wolpe, while courteous, was at times more heated and more pointed than the earlier encounter, with the writer and the rabbi at times interrupting, and expressing irritation at, each other.

He says that public schools are nurseries of vice and immorality, which only call themselves independent out of shame. Their dubious charitable status, worth £100m a year, is subsidised by low income families. Full video available at www.intelligencesquared.com

Atheist vs Muslim Debate - Secularism vs Political Theism (Part 1)

Debate: "Should God be de-radicalised? - Religion and state in the modern world" Date: 29 September 2009 Venue: Central London Speakers: Bob Churchill of the British Humanist Society (www.humanism.org.uk ), and Abdullah al Andalusi of the Muslim Debate Initiative (www.thedebateinitiative.com ). In the modern world, religion is seen as a relic of the past, as being unable to deal with contemporary problems, and at worst, being the cause of today's afflictions and problems. But is this accurate? Is religion the cause of modern day wars, social breakdown and global warming? Isn't it rather the mass industry of materialistically-focused societies producing, and polluting, in mass quantities without regard to the ethical limits we find common in religion? Is public morality in decay due to the secularisation of society? Are wars about Oil and nationalism, rather than religion?but Lastly, can religion provide answers which are fundamentally lacking in Secularism? Both sides of the debate, both ideological Secular Atheist and ideological Theist, debate the role religion should play in the 21st century in this intellectually stimulating discussion- Should God be de-radicalised? Speakers: Bob Churchill Bob studied Philosophy at the University of Warwick and Queens University, Canada. Does God Exist?: William Lane Craig vs Antony Flew

drcraigvideos.blogspot.com - William Lane Craig and Antony Flew met in 1998 on the 50th anniversary of the famous Copleston debate to discuss the question of God's existence in a public debate. Unlike Richard Dawkins, Flew was one of the most respected atheist thinkers of the 20th and early 21st century (his scholarly works on David Hume are still studied today, and his "presumption of atheism" argument is still used by atheists). He became a deist* shortly before he died in April, 2010 (although he was an atheist when he debated Craig). The debate was transcribed into a book: www.amazon.com * - Flew's conversion has caused quite a scandal. The men behind Barack Obama part 1

Especially in politics it is of the utmost importance to try to look behind the facade: who makes up the team of the presidential candidate? The future president of the United States of America is for a large part dependent on and being fed by his team of advisors and future cabinet members. Webster Tarpley wrote a book on the men and women behind presidential hopeful Barack Obama. He argues that there is more to Obama than his charismatic appearance and that some of his advisors pose a danger to the US and the world in case Obama might be elected to become the next US president. Whether Tarpleys view is correct for now is a matter of opinion and remains to be seen, but for the public debate it is relevant to take note of his facts and arguments. Therefor DeepJournal interviewed Webster Tarpley on the topic of his recently published book Obama, The Postmodern Coup,The Making of a Manchurian Candidate.

Surprisingly, corn is present in some form or another, in almost everything on the American plate. And, none more so, than through the food ingredient "high fructose corn syrup" (HFCS). Is it a good idea to have "HFCS" present in so many of our foods without prior public debate, or adequate science to measure its impact on the long-term health of adults, and especially our children? Should our standard meals be unnaturally skewed toward a corn based diet, in the first place? This interview, along with video clips from the documentary, may not provide the answers here, but it's a good beginning for further thought and reflection. What do you think?

Former NM Gov. Gary Johnson's Vision For a Truly Free America

Former Republican Gov. Gary Johnson was the top elected official in New Mexico from 1994 through 2002. He took office after beating a primary opponent backed by the Republican party and he won election twice in a state that has two-to-one Democratic registration. Born in 1953 and a one-time competitive skiier, Johnson was not your typical governor. Instead, he governed as fiscally responsible and socially tolerant. He didn't raise taxes at all during his time in office and pushed through an aggressive privatization agenda that reduced costs while improving services. He vetoed 750 bills and trimmed the state workforce by 1000 positions at the same time. He was also the highest-level elected politician and one of the most vocal proponent of drug legalization during his tenure. Johnson is now fronting the Our America initiative, which is dedicated to advancing the public debate on topics ranging from immigration to civil liberties to free enterprise to the federal deficit to the war on drugs to Afghanistan and Iraq. He is frequently mentioned as a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2012. Reason's Matt Welch and Nick Gillespie talked with Johnson about the issues of the day—and what it was like to climb Mt. Everest shortly after busting his leg. Approximately 10 minutes. Shot by Dan Hayes and Meredith Bragg; edited by Bragg. Note: This is a condensed version of a longer interview. Oregon Senator Reveals Secret Government Surveillance Grid

Kurt Nimmo Infowars.com May 26, 2011 In an interview with Wired, Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, adds yet more confirmation to what many of us have known for years -- the government has built a secret surveillance structure far more portentous and dangerous than anything devised by the PATRIOT Act now up for renewal. Wyden points to the so-called "business-records provision" of the PATRIOT Act which empowers the FBI to force businesses, medical offices, banks and other organizations to turn over any "tangible things" it deems relevant to a so-called security investigation. "It is fair to say that the business-records provision is a part of the Patriot Act that I am extremely interested in reforming," Wyden told Wired. "I know a fair amount about how it's interpreted, and I am going to keep pushing, as I have, to get more information about how the Patriot Act is being interpreted declassified. I think the public has a right to public debate about it." "Surveillance under the business-records provisions has recently spiked," writes Spencer Ackerman. "The Justice Department's official disclosure on its use of the Patriot Act, delivered to Congress in April, reported that the government asked the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court for approval to collect business records 96 times in 2010 — up from just 21 requests the year before. The court didn't reject a single request. But it 'modified' those requests 43 times, indicating to some Patriot-watchers that a broadening ...

The Alex Jones Show 2/3:SPLC:Running False Flag on Alex Jones & Patriots

Media Floats Talking Point That Gun Owners Are Domestic Terrorists Paul Joseph Watson www.prisonplanet.com Wednesday, August 12, 2009 The establishment media and the Southern Poverty Law Center are again floating the talking point that militia groups and worried gun owners are growing in the United States and that this could portend a violent act of domestic terror, despite the fact that every major domestic terror attack in the 1990s was carried out by the federal government itself, from Ruby Ridge, to Waco, to the Oklahoma City bombing. Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends, reports the Associated Press. The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration. The article cites people who own guns and implies that they are domestic terrorists or cop killers in the vein of Richard Poplawski, the Pittsburgh man who gunned down three officers during a domestic dispute earlier this year. The report cites a Homeland Security threat projection which states White supremacists and militias are more violent and thus more likely to conduct mass-casualty attacks on the scale of the 1995 Oklahoma City ...
