aziz mian qawwal - teri soorat

Dil ke bazar main qeemat nahi dekhi jati piyar ho jaye to soorat nahi dekhi jati --- Maine dil diya, pyaar ki hadh thi Maine jaan di, aitbaar ki hadh thi Mar gaye hum, khuli rahi aankhen Yeh mere intezaar ki hadh thi I gave my heart; that was the height of love. I put my life in his hands; that was the height of trust. I died, but my eyes refused to close. That was the height of waiting. Aziz Mian Qawwal (Urdu: عزیز میاں قوال) (April 17, 1942 December 6, 2000) was one of Pakistan's most famous traditional Qawwals.[1] He is responsible for the longest commercially released Qawwali, Hashr Ke Roz Yeh Poochhunga, which runs slightly over 115 minutes and was originally released on two cassettes. Early life and background Aziz Mian was born as Abdul Aziz (Urdu: عبد العزیز) in Delhi, British India. The exclamation, Mian, which he often used in his Qawwalis, became part of his stage name. He began to introduce himself as Aziz Mian Mairthi. The word Mairthi refers to Meerut, a city in northern India, from which he migrated to Pakistan in 1947. At the age of ten, he began learning the art of Qawwali under the tutelage of Ustad Abdul Waheed Khan. He received sixteen years of training at the Data Ganj Baksh School of Lahore. Aziz Mian obtained MS degrees in Arabic, Persian, Persian literature, Urdu literature, and History from the University of Punjab, Lahore. Career Aziz Mian was one of the more traditional Pakistani Qawwals. His voice was raspy and powerful, yet this was not the ...

After almost a decade of winters spent living & studying with Dildar Khan in Pakistan, we've finally had the blessing of hosting Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's tabla nawaz in our USA home for a few months. Performing qawwali with this Pakistani legend in America has certainly been a dream come true, thank you Aminah ! Ustad Dildar & Madam Noor Jahan both grew up in the small Punjabi village of Kasoor, a couple of hours north of Lahore. Noor Jahan is known as the queen of melody & has a perfectly beautiful way of melodic ornamentation. Inshallah, learning her songs will enrich the Fanna-Fi-Allah sufi qawwali party. Ismail Azad Qawwal - Siddique Ne Ramzan Ke Mahinay Main

Ismail Azad Qawwal, a very celebrated qawwal of the era 1940-50s, was from India and sung many renowned qawwaliz a huge proportion of which were the masterpieces written by Anwar Masroor. He was famous for singing qawwaliz with lyrics having sheer meanings and lessons in them. His qawwaliz were copied in India as well as in Pakistan subsequently. Many qawwals seemed to have inspired by his beguiling compositions and the way he delivered the verses. The dominant feature of his masterpieces was the simplicity and the meaningfulness of the kalam and the catchy compositions that magnetized the attention of the listeners and generated a considerable Ismaili fanclub. Unlike a traditional qawwal, he never focused on the 'raag' yet he possessed a melodious, sharp and easily distinguishable voice. Since he made his mark far before the 3 gigantic legends viz. Aziz Mian, Sabri Borthers and Nusrat, they viewed him as one of the trendsetters in the qawwali world. Naat, Manqabat and Shan-e-Auliya (Grandeur of Saints) were the major topics of his qawwaliz though he sung for the films as well including numbers like "Hamain To Loot Liya", etc. His famous numbers were "Paaray Paaray Pe Likha Hai Kamli Walay Ka Naam", "Mere Peer Hain Jilani", "Takhti", "Haider Ki Talwar", "Bade Peer Benazir", "Hamain To Loot Liya" and many more.
