These are just a few clips. All effects were done on 35mm film with optical compositing since digital did not exist. This is a dub off a dub off of an old Beta tape so the quality and dynamic range is not the best.

Word Lens is one of the hottest innovations I've seen this year for the iPhone. The app translates in real time, from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. "I made the app because I was traveling in a foreign country and I was in a bookstore and I couldn't read anything," says Otavio Good, founder of Quest Visual, and developer of Word Lens. "I thought, maybe I can make my cell phone read this. So I decided to try making a translator." Two and a half years later, the video of Word Lens translating signs from Spanish to English immediately went viral, and has often been described as "magical." Why are we all so wowed? PCMag.com is reporting that a new iPhone app called Word Lens can instantly translate English words to Spanish or vice versa on the screen of your phone when you take a photo with the phone's built-in camera. The free version of Word Lens debuted on the App Store on Thursday and is already the ninth most popular app on Apple's top 10 free apps. The free app developed by San Francisco-based Quest Visual can flip or erase words. The flip feature spells a word backwards, while the erase feature blurs out words. Those who want the translation feature can purchase the full app for $4.99 as part of a 50% off sale that ends December 31st. The futuristic app is being marketed as a travel application jet setters can use as an instant translation tool from road signs to menus. Just point and snap a photo of a Spanish phrase on your phone, and the app translates it into English. Quest Visual said the feature works without an Internet connection, so users need not worry about data charges while abroad. The app also offers the option to search for translations by manually typing in words. The company is currently developing additional languages for its translation roster.

Visual Rhetoric: In Depth, Part 1 of 2 Why I paint! "Visual Rhetoric: A Transformation, a Synthesis of Understanding" was painted by T. Scauzillo Golden (Dieci) in 1999-2000. Probably his best masterwork of art, TS Golden puts his Spective theories into practice in this complex yet harmonious composition. Painted on four independent canvases as allegories of the primary elements: water, fire, air, and Earth; "Visual Rhetoric" pays homage to Renaissance masters while at the same time prospecting to a new, original, contemporary style. This shows me developing a very basic quest for my server. It took 35minutes, from the moment I opened WoW (with no real ideas on what to do) to adding it to my live realm. I did not have to test much code since the only code used was for a visual and gossip menu, so that took little time. Even so, the whole quest took me 45 minutes. Alright everyone, welcome to the first installment to my Pokemon Ash's Quest walkthrough! I'm not sure how many videos this game will take, but I do know that I will get it done eventually. A few things to note: 1. I will catch and evolve my Pokemon in the order that Ash caught/evolved his. 2. I will be using Rare Candies, as the places to train in this game are seldom to none. NOTE: Unfortunately, I went over the time limit (by about 4 minutes) so the video is a little bit choppy. This WILL NOT happen for the next videos. So I do apologise for that.

Google Tech Talks April, 9 2008 ABSTRACT A long-term goal of Machine Learning research is to solve highy complex "intelligent" tasks, such as visual perception auditory perception, and language understanding. To reach that goal, the ML community must solve two problems: the Deep Learning Problem, and the Partition Function Problem. There is considerable theoretical and empirical evidence that complex tasks, such as invariant object recognition in vision, require "deep" architectures, composed of multiple layers of trainable non-linear modules. The Deep Learning Problem is related to the difficulty of training such deep architectures. Several methods have recently been proposed to train (or pre-train) deep architectures in an unsupervised fashion. Each layer of the deep architecture is composed of an encoder which computes a feature vector from the input, and a decoder which reconstructs the input from the features. A large number of such layers can be stacked and trained sequentially, thereby learning a deep hierarchy of features with increasing levels of abstraction. The training of each layer can be seen as shaping an energy landscape with low valleys around the training samples and high plateaus everywhere else. Forming these high plateaus constitute the so-called Partition Function problem.
