SNES Super R-Type

When the SNES came out, one of the launch titles that immediately got my attention was R-Type. But not just R-Type, it was a Super R-Type! A remake/remix of the original arcade version, with loads of extras, exclusive to the Super Nintendo. Even if I had played the Arcade and amiga versions, when I got this one, it stayed in the SNES cartridge slot for a long, long time. This is me having some nostalgic fun on levels 1 and 2.
R-Type

My objective here was to go through the first 3 levels of the arcade game without losing a life plus having a perfect ('no aliens left behind') first level (44000 points). Even though the first few levels may be fairly easy with a bit of experience, I kept going wrong in the 400x300 window I used to capture in. So here's just the first 2 levels (rounded off to 5 minutes) flowing uninterrupted by loss of life.

[AMSTRAD CPC] R-Type 128K Remake - Longplay (Full Game)

The new R-Type remake for the Amstrad CPC is now out!! *NOW AVAILABLE!* Download from (plus full information) - cpc.rtype.fr 1 year on since the first preview video was put live, finally the game is complete! And it's amazing!!! *SPOILER ALERT* This is the full game, with intros, ending, music in full, etc. If you still play Amstrad games then GO PLAY THIS FIRST and don't ruin the surprise and fun!! 01 Intro 05:17 Title Screen 06:31 Level 1 The story... A long time ago, the Amstrad received the port of the legendary coin-op R-Type, it was OK but it was a rush job and was just completely ported from the (excellent) Speccy version. Very little enhancements were made, apart from workarounds to get it displaying correctly on the CPC, this resulted in further overheads and thus ended up being slower and far less impressive than the Spectrum original. The Easter Egg team began work on improving the game back in December 2009, now two years later you get to see the completed job! What started out as just improving the graphics, sound effects and music, turned into a massive rewrite of the game improving and enhancing many aspects and introducing even more new stuff. The original Amstrad programmer Keith Goodyer even turned up on the CPC Wiki forums to assist and give his side of the story! Then Bob Pape the Spectrum version programmer came forward with some of his original code! That then became the base for this remake... Now we have an amazing improvement and a port all ...

PS1 Underrated Gem: R-Types

This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the various consoles I own. Wow, I actually look like I don't suck at this game in this vid. Nothing could be further from the truth. Anyways, yes, another PS1 Shmup. i figured that since I've pretty much shown the extend of my PS1 Shmup collection (Gekioh, G-Darius, and Einhander), I may as well finish it off (but my collection is still work in progress mind you) R-Types on the PS1 gives you two classic Shmup games R-Type, and R-Type II. Make no mistake about it, these are two great classics, that are extremely hard. In fact, I'm only playing R-Type on normal, and I'm playing R-Type II on easy, and these games are still insane. Luckily, the game gives you infinite continues. Now that may lead some people to say that that takes all the challenge away by giving the player an infinite number of tries, but, honestly, no. Even with the infinite continues offered in both of these games, they are still harder than hell. To those who can beat these games on their hardest difficulties, my hat's off to you. R-Type II especially is insanely hard for me. I somehow manage to do decent in this vid (granted, even on easy, R-Type II kicks my sorry ass), but normally, I can spend 20 continues just trying to get to the second level. These games were arcade games, and they wanted your money badly. Impatient gamers need no apply to this one. it's purely oldschool in flavor which means it takes a lot of patience ...

R-Type 1987 Stage 7 and Final Boss

This is played on R-Types for the Playstation. This is not a continuous play from my other stage videos (these two are continuous though). Areas of note Stage 7: -sorry about the frame skipping at the beginning; my computer was being lame. -yes, that really is a safe spot at the boss. -alternatively, you can put your Force on the back and park the cockpit in that lower groove and time out the boss. Areas of note Stage Final: -interestingly enough I was playing on my SDTV and the extreme left and right screen were cropped. On the video signal we can see the entire R9, but I could only see the cockpit. Made it a little harder to dodge the disk at the beginning. -I love the text at the end. \(^o^)/ Playlist for R-Type 1987: www.youtube.com

R-TYPE II (AMIGA - FULL GAME)

Zeus presents R-Type II (un-emulated) for theAmiga A500. A true classic from the golden era of amiga gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game. This i felt was much more rougher than it'e prequel as far as graphics and especially sound fx. This also had what i consider the most pointless, stupid and hard to work out how to kill bosses in a game i have ever seen. You'll see in the vid that several of the bosses i really had no idea what to aim at as they never flashed or did anything to help me work out how to kill them. Not the best game. I have used the invincibilty cheat from the trainer menu so i could upload the entire game for your viewing pleasure. Hope all you Amiga fans enjoy this upload. Please note that NONE of my game uploads are pc emulators or emulated in any way whatsoever. I am actually playing this on my dedicated Amiga A500, that way you know you are watching the real thing. Emulators and longplays cannot be taken too seriously as most of them are not 100% faithfull to the original game and they are usually tooled up (inluding using other trick devices such as savestates) meaning a game is made to look alot easier and gives a false impression of how difficult the game really is and also most of them don't include the loading screens or much of the game title music. Don't accept fakes! My uploads are 100% original and un-emulated! Switch to 480p for better quality and feel ...
Classic Game Room HD - R-TYPE for Sega Master System review

Classic Game Room HD reviews R-TYPE for the Sega Master System from 1988! This legendary horizontal SHMUP space ship shooter is one of the most iconic video games ever created. This review of R-Type shows gameplay footage from Rtype showing the reviewed game in all of its HD glory (upconverted from the Sega Master System) As SHMUPS go this is one of the big ones and has seen numerous sequels and remakes on various consoles ranging from the Super Nintendo to PS2 and Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. Blow away the Bydo bitches with an arsenal of laser beams and missiles and power ups and the force cannon thingy that you can shoot out and reel back in. R-Type gameplay is unique and different from many side scroller shmup shootersl like Gradius and Thunder Force 6. So here it is from Classic Game Room, a review of the legendary R-Type for Sega Master System. Originally released in the arcades in 1987 from Irem, R-Type is the bomb and an a true old school shmup arcade coin-op classic worthy of being reviewed and respected by Classic Game Room. Interestingly R-Type is not available on the NES.

It is a play animation of first R-TYPE. This was the first half, but a turn has been mixed up by a mistake. I was surprised at impossible heat when I tried an automatic blaze some other time. I feel strong than I separate it depending on a case, and a state uses a red laser. I do one kill of a battleship core with wave motion gun by the animation of the latter half, but I can defeat the boss of stage 2 in a similar way, but do not do it by the animation. Because a shooting position is very close, the reason is because it is not so actual. If such independent Sheen feels like it, I contribute it.
