RARE OLDIES SOUNDIES WITH THE FABULOUS TAP DANCER MR RALPH BROWN ! Born in Indianapolis, Mr. Brown moved to New York City in 1931 after winning amateur talent contests in his hometown. He became a regular at the Hoofers Club in Harlem, picking up steps from tap dancers like Eddie Rector and John Bubbles and developing his own style. In 1934 he got a job dancing at the Cotton Club, where he met the band leader Cab Calloway, with whom he traveled for several decades. He also appeared with Charlie Parker, Cootie Williams and Duke Ellington. In recent years he toured with the cast of "The Original Hoofers." About the Lecture: In 1856 the state legislature chartered the East Alabama Male College (later Auburn University), but the school did not open until three years later, on the eve of the Civil War. Always called "Auburn", the college was sponsored by local Methodists. When armed conflict interrupted its promising beginning, the college served as a Confederate hospital, endured a severe tornado, and survived a federal invasion. Struggling to reopen after the Civil War, the college operated for a few years with insufficient funds until the Methodists offered the institution to the state.

Holiday Skating Center Jamboree 10-09-11 Last All Skate. 3 Organist: Ralph Brown, Marty Dumic, & Corey Fridinger. Each one took turns playing. They had a keyboard on the side, where one would play, while the other 2 swapped off on the organ, then the one that was releaved would play the fill in keyboard. I think that is how they do it. If it's not, I will revise this description. The blurred camera problem has been solved. At this event, I met alot of frinds from our Facebook Group "Organ Music Shuffle Skaters". Withnail and I is a British black comedy made in 1986 by HandMade Films. It was written and directed by Bruce Robinson and is based on his life in London in the late 1960s. The main plot follows two unemployed young actors, Withnail and "I" (portrayed by Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann) who live in a squalid flat in Camden in 1969 while waiting for their careers to take off. Needing a holiday, they obtain the key to the country cottage in the Lake District belonging to Withnail's flamboyantly gay uncle Monty and drive there.
