Rescue 42 10000lbs ratchet straps are an integral part of the TeleCrib system. Prepare your straps for use by feeding your strap up through the drum and pulling out all the slack. Do not feed the strap under the handle mechanism. To deploy the strap, simply hold it sideways and allow the strap to unwind. Unhook the hooks and hook them to your anchor points. Be careful not to overload the drum as this may cause the strap to jam. If the handle is jammed or cannot be extended, use a screwdriver to pry the lock-plate out of the drum and release the load. This works from both the top or bottom of the ratchet mechanism. When supporting loads with any strut system, its vital that you only use straps with a working load high enough for the job. Weve seen strut systems that have cam buckle or ratchet straps with 700lb working loads and just 2000lb breaking strength. These straps are not strong enough for strut systems and must never be used with rescue 42 struts. Tele-Crib rescue straps have a working load of 3333lbs and are specially treated to resist chemical attack, and to minimize glass penetration. Straps will wear out and must be replaced when worn.

Buy this ratchet strap online from US Cargo Control: www.uscargocontrol.com TRANSCRIPT: In this segment we're going to show you how to use a 1 inch ratchet strap to tie down an ATV. First we are going to take the long end of the strap and feed it up and through the frame of the ATV. Putting it through the frame gives us the most stable spot to tie down. Be careful that you do not go around the axles, A arms, or anything that is prone to damage. Hook the fixed end of the strap to the other anchor point. Next, pull the slack out of the strap. This is important so that you don't have too much webbing around the mandrel of the ratchet which will cause it to bind before it is completely tightened. We'll hold the strap tight and begin to ratchet. You can see how after just a few ratchets that the ATV is cinching down to the trailer. The last step is to close the ratchet and secure any extra webbing so that it isn't flapping around during travel. RELEASING THE RATCHET Your ratchet has a spring release. Pull the release with your fingers and open the ratchet completely, keeping the lever pulled. You can see it easily releases the tension to unhook it. NOTE: You MUST also attach a second strap to the rear frame of the ATV to prevent "swapping" of the rear end to safely secure it for transport. Your total working load limit of the straps must exceed the weight of the object you are tying down.

I was compressing this coil on a 2000 Ford Taurus that was realy hard and I wanted to get it done tonight because I have so much work & more keeps coming. anyhow my coil spring compressors that I have used so many times had met their match and I was nervice that they were going to break so I used dollar stoor ratchet straps and they worked great. I think if you used just 4 ratchet straps it would do the job.
